The yellow card was given quickly before VAR had a look.
If VAR had ruled it a penalty (and rightly so), that would mean overruling the ref, which is a big no no. Refs stick together, you know.

United fully deserve that half time lead in the derby. For once a goalkeeping error is a goal scored instead of conceded. City for all of their possession only managed one shot on goal. Lucky they aren't behind by more United had a decent call for penalty and James,Martial had some good chances to score.

Ole has his critics but in a big game against a top side he's got his tactics spot on once more. Hopefully United can hold on for the win now.

The most stupid thing about Fred's yellow card is that it would be much more logical for referees to let the VAR look first if a player is diving, and then decide whether it should be a yellow or not.
