    According to Lee Dixon, VAR can only intervene if the ref has made a clear and obvious error.

    Had Martial laid the ball off to Bruno, James done better with his chance and we gotten the penalty and it would likely be 4-0 then this would be one of the best performances this season from any team.     New to football aren’t you? You will find that footballers miss chances, alot of them. All football games have moments where you can go what if from the armchair. Dwelling on all these will ruin the game for you.
     
    Fred makes a move with the ball and is passed it. Otamendi tried to go for the ball,misses,hacks Fred and somehow not enough contact. Unbelievable

    If Fred gets a second yellow it will be nightmare. He must be careful and not as effective in duels in midfield.

    This. It wasn’t even remotely theatrical.

    It’s the kind of pen that when it’s given, you see one replay and think “yeah 100%”. Can’t believe VAR didn’t spend longer looking at it.

    That's an insane excuse. The rules state contact=foul. How can they be so sure that the contact never impeded Fred? They are mind readers now?

    Nope when defending. He's so slow to everything: closing, tackling, anticipating. He's good passer though.
     
    Good half, we need to be smarter with the ball when trying to keep possession particularly from our defenders i.e Shaw. I can see City getting a goal if we fail to clear the ball or play it simple and holding it for too long.
     
    I'm actually really proud of the way we have improved our attack as time has progressed.

    We dealt with the injuries to our best two players really well. Credit must go to OGS and his staff no matter what happens in the remainder of this match.

    The potential is there to see. Imagine any other side losing their best two players and putting in a performance like this.

    If thinking Fred dived when actually there is clear contact is not a "clear and obvious error" then I don't know what is.
    If Mike Dean had not booked Fred, they could have said that maybe he saw the contact but felt there wasn't enough contact. You can't book someone for diving because there wasn't enough contact.
