Outstanding in the first half. Incredibly glad to be wrong about the line up. Amazed we didnt get a pen. City rattled. Let's hope we can be smart for second half as we have suffered from good positions all season

Was worried when they were dominating possession, but they only had 1 proper chance for all of it. They will make changes, but if sterling or someone doesn't help defend at all down that right James or AWB are getting an assist today I reckon.
Aguero is coming down a lot, I think that shows they are not happy with the ball flowing right now and think they need to help the midfield. It's actually against Pep way of playing but who knows.

Over 50% of people in the Ole thread want him sacked.

Win or lose, people who can't see the progress need to take a look at themselves.

It's because they think for you to be the best team you have to dominate games. It should show his tactical ability that he can manage these games and get wins even when the other team dominate possession.

Had Martial laid the ball off to Bruno, James done better with his chance and we gotten the penalty and it would likely be 4-0 then this would be one of the best performances this season from any team. Unfortunately we haven't taken them all, so it could be an edgy second half despite the performance. Ole can't be blamed for that.

I know we are winning but I hate the way we are playing, it reminds me so much of Greece winning the Euro. We always have at least 8 players in the box when the other team attacks and try to score on the counter when the other team has no defense or from a set pieces, just not how I want to see us play.
    Jesus. State of this.

Played it perfectly there for the first half.

I can’t believe we’re playing 3 at the back again. Ole has no clue what he’s doing. He’s only got us out there winning against a top 6 side yet again. Absolutely clueless.

That penalty though...it bugs me. Not to mention that Fred having yellow card is huge thing for second half

I don't blame Dean (for once) because it looked like a dive but wtf is VAR for if not to correct that?

What is the purpose of VAR, if that wasn`t a penalty against Fred? Ok, Mike Dean made a clear mistake and gave Fred a yellow card, but why didn`t VAR react? A 100% clear penalty - City got lucky.

James and Maguire have been poor in the first half, the rest have been good.
There is no purpose to VAR. The system is TERRIBLE.

I am talking about the ref in this game. Not what happened before and whenever we had a decision for us, we didn't cheat it, it was the correct one so should we feel lucky ?
No I’m just saying it it were fixed why would we be the the club that’s benefited most.

Anyway, yeah that call was a joke, is it because Dean gave a yellow so VAR can’t overrule it?

Good performance that half. Wasn't happy with inviting them on, but as the half wore on we actually took more control of the game.
Maguire's not been great. I imagine City will be throwing more at us in the second half so he'll need to step it up.

Good first half. Should be more ahead. Blatant penalty as well.

Pep will change things around now.

Game will end in a draw i feel.

This team is playing with so much confidence. Looking forward to more goals in the 2nd half. Bruno to get a brace.

Sky Sport Germany are trying to find a reason for not giving the penalty. The theory: The English refs want to punish flopping, so VAR did not overrule the ref.

It's obvious this team need to upgrade Matic. He's a passenger there.

    And Dean is an ass.

Why can't VAR just intervene and say that it clearly wasn't a dive, so the yellow card can rescinded?

Technically the ref should have the players come back out to take the penalty. It would count as the last kick of the first half.

That would make too much sense to happen.

Also, they already check VAR and found no issues.

Don't blame VAR when its the same fecking useless tosser referees making the reviews. Its not like VAR can suddenly pipe up and say "No Andre, you're dead fecking wrong. Its a stonewall pen on Fred. You can see he got kicked".

I know we are winning but I hate the way we are playing, it reminds me so much of Greece winning the Euro. We always have at least 8 players in the box when the other team attacks and try to score on the counter when the other team has no defense or from a set pieces, just not how I want to see us play.
The other team has far more technical players than we do - we don’t have much choice?

This is easily my favourite post-SAF team in terms of watchability and likability. Not perfect by any means, but they give it all, take their chances and never give up (most of the time anyway).

Is AWB currently world's best right-back? In this game he fecking is!

Good half in the end. I still don’t think there’s much purpose in Shaw/Williams together, I’d get one of them off for McTominay.

Nervous about Mahrez/Silva from the bench. Pep will get them to come at us in the second half.

    We have Lingard.
