I think that team too sadly. Although it depend on Martial and Lingards health. Shaw might play too over Williams.
Romero deserves to be in goal, but Ole will probably stick with De Gea even after all the errors and points lost.

I find this information the most concerning ahead of the game.
It shouldn't. It ultimately doesn't mean much. Of all the home games we've been unbeaten, none of those would be the same xl which United field today. Even if they were, football is a game of momentum, the slightest thing can spark a chain reaction.

I predict that City keeper has nothing to do. Some random shots by Rashford out of frustration.

Just hope Jon Stones and Bravo play. That should give us a better chance.

Hopefully they have Jesus over Aguero too.

This for me too except I'd bring Andreas in for Jesse, and the later had better not start. Hoping all this talk means he is finally going. Would suit Italy.

This is possibly the weakest our squad has been this season, for the first time I'm anxious about a game

The original plan for this post was supposed to be about predicting the team for tonight. Then I arrived at the midfield area and began losing the will to continue due to the appalling options currently available. So I quit. But not before thanking my lucky stars that I'm not in Ole shoes.

I no longer have a plan for this post. It's funny how things work out.

Who cares about the lineup, If i try to go through it, i might be tempted to do myself in.

3-0 comfortable win for City. They're levels above us.

    Our strongest side is probably

    --------------------romero
    Bissaka-lindelof-maguire-williams
    -------------fred----matic
    -------------------gomes
    -greenwood-martial-rashford

But i expect ole to favour playing shaw and lingard over William's and gomes, plus de gea will probably get the nod over Romero even though romero is usually the starter in most cup games.

We usually play well when the squad is poor and everyone expect us to get slaughtered.

So I expect us to win tonight, then lose the second leg.

I wonder if Ramazani will make the squad considering he didn't play last night.

He'll play his B team and we'll still lose.

What even is Pep's "B team", thought? He has a strong options for every position - two full, strong teams.

On our side, however - i hope we play all youngsters and don't worry about winning too much. Chances are slim anyway, it's a cup competition - give youngster's experience and concentrate on leage

Fair enough. Hopefully. Yeah, regardless of how we do tonight, over 2 legs we've got no chance realistically.

I keep thinking, there's only so many times he can keep getting away with it. We're due a battering eventually you would think.

Well since this season gives me LVG second season vibes from the start when we kept having crap results and whenever pressure increased on Van Gaal we won a big game and everything returned to normal I expect Ole to follow through. :D Not expecting him to leave any time now before May.

Defeat and then city underestimate us in the second leg and we go through. Mountains are there to be climbed etc.

Pep did say he underestimated us though. He will probably be cautious against the counter attack this time.

I hope we don’t lose but I’m not confident.
When we beat them earlier in the season our midfield was in better shape, I think being forced into picking Matic will kill any chance we have of getting a result.

Were not worried about winning, we're worried about being slaughtered

How can i forget that season. Rashford coming out of the woodwork to destroy Arsenal was fun. Even beat Liverpool & City away somehow. :D

We defeated Klopp's Liverpool away with Rooney's goal them immediately lost the next game 0-1 at home against fecking Southampton. Just like what we're experiencing currently.

That Liverpool away game was pure steal. We got totally dominated then put in a corner towards Fellani who headed it down to Rooney and won it 1-0. It was the two most attacked players here at that time who did the job (yes even more than Lingard and Jones that season) .

Against City we should have had a clear pen, but the clown Oliver didn't give it. He is always against us. Just GOD hope he is not having this game too. We won that game anyway, but still messed it up near the end to get top 4 against West Ham.

For Ole, this is gonna be the footballing equivalent of him taking his Key Stage 1 SATS.

Yeah he should play the youth and see what happens. His strongest 11 is unlikely to win this tie over two legs and top 4 would be a better result this season.

This is what i expect from United, be expressive and go for those piercing passes because City will not sit deep against any opposition in the world and that's cause Pep is a great attacker and loves to keep the ball and find ways to break defenses. If we kept the ball even for 5-6 passes, we can find a way to pierce their midfield. We need hard working midfielders and i hope we play Fred and Matic a little deep with Mata or Periera in the middle. In fact i would like Greenwood to play behind Martial but since he's still a kid, i wouldn't want or expect Ole to do that. Let's just look for those piercing on the floor passes and neat collection from every player. We can easily push our full backs up the field and play a few combination passes. Although defending deep is a huge ask as well. Let's see how it panes out.

    Predicted XI

    De Gea
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Williams
    Fred Matic
    Pereira
    James Martial Rashford

    Predicted Scoreline,
2-0 United (i'm being optimistic and brave about this)

    Fair enough :)

For what it's worth, and not that it's a predictor of anything, but I don't think we've lost with a large score, under Ole, yet, have we? Or maybe I am forgetting a game.

We have only given up 3 or more goals in a game three times under Ole: 4-0 to Everton, 3-0 to Barcelona, and 3-3 against Sheffield United.

All the negativity in here is overwhelming. We not taken note of the last 3 'Big' teams we faced? United win 2-0.

Arsenal was new manager bounce, back to the norm and Ole will school Pep again.

We had Mctominay in those games though. This will be a different test. Also Lingard was key to our last win against City, but his form is terrible.

Agreed, and that this Otamendi guy that tend to show up in the box, has an off day, and no KDB shots from outside the box. Hopefully the defence of Man Utd have an `on` day tonight, and that the midtfield three have now built some more good vibrations, and don`t fear to try
