That City defence looks very suspect IMO. Otamendi, Stones, Kolarov WTF! And they want to win the league with that, with only Fernandinho providing protection? Guardiola has one hell of a task to do here, this is miles off his Bayern and Barcelona teams. We should really do some damage upfront today.

Mkhi hasn't had many minutes but he's surely full fit and raring to go. Jesse gives us lots of work rate over on that left hand side.

Looks to me that the changes Jose has made means we're setting up to contain and hit on the counter.

Can see City paying the price for only having Fernandinho as a defensive player in that midfield. Pressing as a team is all good and all, but we should dominate the midfield with Pogba and Fellaini. Hopefully we make the most out of our aerial superiority as well.

I like this line up. Sad to see Martial dropped but Lingard will offer more defensively and Micky finally starts.

Don't think he's dropped Martial cause he's been poor. Think it's the same reason Rashford does start. He's gone for defensively aware players out wide.
Our fullbacks have to have good ga,es for us to pose a threat here.

Rooney has played better then Martial so far this season.

Also think Martial has been dropped because lingard will track back back more, Mouinho generally goes safety first in big games, and thats what the selection of lingard is.

Balanced rather than defensive, I'd say. Mkhitaryan and Lingard attack as well as they defend. Albeit Lingard isn't as good in attack as Mata or Martial.

Nice surprise on the wings, I thought Jose would go with extra pace wide and drop Mata but Micki and Lingard I think have gotten in ahead of Martial for the extra workrate as well.

I think it's going to be a long day with them having all the ball and us having to be patient. Clear as day, Mourinho has gone out to stop them first. I would have loved to see Martial or Rashford on the wings to explain the tons of space city leave behind.
