Grew up supporting United as my family are United and used to follow Luton as second team but quite a while back went all in on Luton.
Well, I'm happy that you got to see them make it to the PL.

I'm guessing that the mess United have been in this past decade didn't help. I'm not just talking about the quality of football either but stuff like that European super league which alienated some of the fanbase because it felt so artificial.

    Thank you.

You hit the nail on the head.

I don't mind about football quality, I support Luton

Up until super league, I was pretty much following both teams side by side but once that chapter happened, I completely dropped United.

Not gonna give my time and support (not that they need it) to a club who's owners give zero fecks back. And that's not a diss at anyone here/who follows United.

I also thought to myself, why/how am I supporting both clubs? For Luton I buy jerseys and go to the games as much as I can, go to charity events held by the club... For United, it was too difficult to go to games (I live just outside London). It made me feel like a plastic fan.

    It eventually became a no-brainer.

We played well opening 25 mins against Copenhagen even though we collapsed afterwards. More of that today, minus the red card of course.

Me having taken the piss out of @Dirty Schwein and Luton and now awaiting judgement

    I think that's all understandable.

By the way, I wouldn't have counted you as a plastic fan. It's only natural you'd support them less (for lack of better phrasing) in terms of going to games and whatnot. Like, I'm from Manchester, but I don't consider myself a better fan than anyone who isn't from here. We're all on the same ride at the end of the day. That's one of the best things about this forum - seeing people from all over the world coming together in support of the same club.

Plus, if people stuck with United post Sir Alex, it'd be wrong to label them as glory hunters considering everything! :D

    Loving the VAR comments.

You know we've been fecked over by VAR plenty right?

The non-penalty vs. West Ham at the last minute, we lost 2-1
It missed a handball on the lead up to Fulham scoring in their 1-0 against us
In that same match, Morris was rugby tackled in the box, nothing given.

    And many more.

We start slow every match so that's your best chance.

    Our back line is decimated.

Ogbene is our most dangerous player with pace to burn but he might be injured. Hopefully not.

I'll stay out of the caf during the match.

Hopefully it's a nice, clean game.

    Up the Hatters!
Seems like you’re describing United as well
Good luck for the game mate!

Nah I don't mean plastic on the sense you are thinking. Meant more like a fan from a distance, which felt pointless when I can really get stuck in to Luton and all their initiatives and be a really active member.

Yet here I still am in a United forum haha. Always will have a soft spot for you guys, I stuck by the Moyes and LVG and Mourinho eras

Ah, I see what you mean. Personally, I'm glad you decided to stick around. You may not consider yourself a United fan anymore but you're still a great poster to have here! Part of the furniture 'n all that :D

Thanks! It's a nice way to pass the time, people are generally friendly and lots of laughs to be had.

Should be an easy 3 points, the run in after this fixture is nothing short of disastrous but if the club can maintain any form similar to that opening against Copenhagen, they should be able to be competitive in these games.

Have a feeling this might be another slog for us. After a couple of batterings early on in the season, Luton have been pretty competitive since then.

Unless we manage to recreate the first 30 minutes of last Wednesday in Copenhagen, I think this will be another one of those uninspiring 1-0 wins. We'd take it however!

Like that woeful penalty decision to equalise vs Wolves.

And the penalty VAR denied Liverpool last week.

This sort of game would have been a formality in years gone by, but I saw enough of Luton on the break last week to know they will cause us fits.

I don’t think it’s possible to entirely disconnect from United based on the background that you’ve given in earlier posts.

Im sure if things improve (not on the pitch but with owners and overall approach towards fans) you’ll be back supporting United in no time.

I’m just not sure if that will ever happen. :(

We looked pretty comfortable against Copenhagen the other day until the sending off. With, what I assume will be, pretty much the same team today, I'm hoping we can, not only win, but put in a good, positive performance.

Not allowed on here mate - got to say something about how shit we are and haver a dig about a player your choice.

Think both of those were fine. Morris was looking the other way

Nah it wouldn't but I'll always like United.

Well, let's be honest, during the course of the entire game against Copenhagen, we were crap.
Playing well for 30 minutes and then completely capitulating does not constitute a good performance.
And as far as bad players go - we have plenty of them right now.

    Perfect cheers mate.

Particularly enjoyed the bit in bold that makes no sense at all.

God help them if it’s anything less than 3 pts today…no pressure lads!!

This is the first time in a long, long time I'm actually convinced we're going to win a game of football.
