I absolutely hate home matches at Old Trafford this season because you can sense the mental fragility of the squad the longer we go without scoring. Our players simply can’t handle the very subdued atmosphere at Old Trafford. If we can manage an early goal to calm some nerves we should be fine but the fact so many of us aren’t even convinced we can comfortably beat Luton Town at home says it all.

These mugs wouldn’t beat St Albans without some difficulty. They are capable of winning games by a single goal though. Expect a 2-1 all over the show scrape.

2-1 Luton. I have no confidence in any of these shitheads none ..well, except to state the usual after a loss..

"We go again". "We have to dust ourselves off". "We played well and had a bit of bad luck". And all the other assorted bullshit they waffle.

Most winnable game we'll have for weeks and it has to be a 3pm

First goal will be huge in this game. If we don't go into second half with the lead these fragile players will fold

I'm expecting VAR to disallow a perfectly good goal, and VAR to give a penalty for some nonsense.

Early goal to settle, otherwise it could be another long afternoon. Another game VAR could well appear and feck it all as its a leveller for lesser opposition . Can see a Pen or Another red card.. also Another Injury as well on top.. if they cant win against these at OT might as well pack it in big time

I think it it will be

    .................... Onana

    Bissaka - Maguire - Lindelöf - Dalot

    ........ McTominay - Eriksen

    Rashford - Fernandes - Garnacho

    ................ Højlund

    Subs: Mount, Pellistri, Martial

Seems like it has 0-1 Luton written all over it.

    But feck it.

    5-0 Utd.

    Hojlund x3, Bruno (Pen), Garnacho.

I don’t know why some here seem to think that an early goal will change anything. That was the old days. It has been a while since we were able to sit back and comfortably defend a lead until we close the game with a couple of goals in the last 20 minutes.
Recently we are more likely to concede within 2 minutes after scoring no matter the opponent.

That being said I am still optimistic and go for 3-1 with Højlund opening his account with 2 goals.

Not looking good for us. Luton held Liverpool for most of the match without a lot of bother. ‘Pool were quite lucky to equalise but did have enough chances before Luton’s goal. They look like the all action side that Utd have difficulty playing against and home advantage doesn’t look like it matters anymore.

Six away league matches for Luton this season

3-1 v Villa ( 1-0 at half time and went 2-0 ahead within minutes of the restart. 3-0 in front with OG on 62 mins.

2-2 v Forest (1-0 to Forest at half time and made it 2-0 on 76 mins. Luton grabbed the draw with goals in the 83rd and 92nd minute.

1-2 v Everton (Luton with goals in the 31st and 24th minute for a dream 2-0 start. Everton got themselves back into the game with a goal before half time but was unable to prevent the defeat.

1-0 v Fulham (only goal on 68 mins in a game both had two shots off target, Luton hit the post with one off their off target shots.

3-0 v Chelsea (1-0 at half time, other goals scored on 68 mins and 75 minutes.

4-1 v Brighton (1-0 at half time, 2nd Brighton goal arrived on 71 minutes via a penalty, Luton made it 2-1 with a penalty of their own then two late goals to seal the win for Brighton)

This will be the first Old Trafford match against Luton Town since September 1991. A 5-0 win that day goals from Brian McClair 2,Paul Ince, Mark Hughes and Steve Bruce.

Hate to say it but Luton will win this game 2-1. I can see it already. Joke team.

We're at home. We'll win. I'm more interested in the manner of the victory.

He'll stick to the same lineup with Varane coming in for Evans. We looked the best we have done all season in the first 30 minutes so I'd be happy with it, and we have a fairly strong bench as well.

    Onana
    AWB Varane Maguire Dalot
    McT Eriksen
    Rashford Bruno Garnacho
    Hojlund
Would be fine with this except Dalot out for Reguilon.

We'll smash 'em. Ten Hag made quite a few tactical switches last game. If we continue with that instead of his 3-1 build up, we'll do great.

If we win, we can consolidate 8th place. Boy, it feels good to say that.

Meh do a chinese knock off thingy. The Maddest Hatter or some gobshite. The character is too cool not to use.
They aren't actually known as the Mad Hatters though, just The Hatters, based on the hat making trade which was (and maybe still is) a prominent industry in the area since the 17th century

A loss here and it would be it for him i think, now whether he'll get the international break ponder about his shortcomings or not one can only guess.

2-3 wins, then a loss in an important game. Rinse repeat.

Really hope Hojlund can get off the mark. Still seem to be some idiots who don't rate him because he hasn't scored in the league yet.
