There’s no doubt in my mind that if ETH scouts Luton thoroughly and puts together a solid game plan and the players execute on that game plan that we can scrape a 1-0 win.

They aren't actually known as the Mad Hatters though, just The Hatters, based on the hat making trade which was (and maybe still is) a prominent industry in the area since the 17th century
The hatters of that industry were often indeed 'mad', though, owing to the use of mercury in the hat-making process. Rees-Mogg would have loved it!

If Hoijlund really doesn't yet have the stamina to play 90 minutes, why doesn't Ten Hag leave him on the bench and bring him on after 10 minutes?

He does but EtH wants him to be able to play in March and April

We'll be gunning for that Europa Conference League spot then.
Half the fans were complaining last season that the players were playing too much, can't have it both ways, Hojlund is our only striker, we need to be careful with him. the alternative is Martial and after 2 games he'll be in the sickbay for a couple of months

Must smash Luton. Early goal for us please. Then let the floodgates open.

Strangely I feel entirely confident about this one, there was some encouraging signs midweek, Hojlund has got to break his league scoring duck soon enough and Bruno is always dangerous. Expecting a feel good factor win, 5-0 to United.

Three one victory I am guessing and same goal scorers as the other night.

Results irrelevant at this stage, seasons over.Much more fun trying to pick the starting eleven with the players left available that haven't fallen out with ETH and following the semi take over speculation

People are mighty confident considering how much we struggled to beat Sheffield, who at the time had had the worst start to a PL in the history of the competition and had been beaten 8-0 by Newcastle.

But yes, Luton will be a breeze I’m sure.

    Come on.

Promoted team, haven't got a win yet, away to an under performing big team, with a manager under pressure and sevaral first team players out injured.

All the signs point to an easy home win for Utd.

I'm hoping they used up all their game raising energy against Pool but feel they will be even more up for this.

I just want a game devoid of VAR crap. I'd rather just lose than win with a dodgy call that will be debated for the next thousand years and brought up in parliament and the UN.

I’d be happy with three shots on goal. Season is finished anyway.

Start Rashford on the right again. The first goal against Copenhagen involved him, AWB and Mctominay down the right side. Good link up play. Let Garnacho have a run in the side down the left… defenders are scared when you have a winger who runs at you.

Feels like Hojlund will get his first (at least) League goal. He looked really hungry for goals.

If we take more of our chances and cut out the defensive errors then we really ought to get the 3 points......If.

I don't know if there'll be a more surreal matchday thread than this one all season... perhaps the reverse fixture!

    Loving the VAR comments.

You know we've been fecked over by VAR plenty right?

The non-penalty vs. West Ham at the last minute, we lost 2-1
It missed a handball on the lead up to Fulham scoring in their 1-0 against us
In that same match, Morris was rugby tackled in the box, nothing given.

    And many more.

We start slow every match so that's your best chance.

    Our back line is decimated.

Ogbene is our most dangerous player with pace to burn but he might be injured. Hopefully not.

I'll stay out of the caf during the match.

Hopefully it's a nice, clean game.

    Up the Hatters!

Great spirit. Win today and we’re 3pts behind 4th.
There's something quite amusing about seeing comments relating to finishing top 4, when already in November we're on the verge of getting knocked out of the very competition that top 4 finish qualifies us to play in

Bets on what VAR decision will go against us today that there are several examples of being given for other teams?

Good luck mate! Hopefully not too much. ;)

Next season will be a lot different though. We might not get Bayern in our group. We might be a better team. We was never winning the CL anyway so we’d just be wasting games once we get to the knockouts. We’ve a better chance of winning the Europa league if we finish 3rd in the group. So then we have 2 routes into next seasons CL.

A clear handball or foul from Luton in the penalty area. They check it doesn’t get given. Then a less incident happens in one of the 3pm games and it gets given…

Well until ETH shows the rage of Plopp or Lego Pep it will continue. United just except and hope that it averages out over the season but it won't.

We are a rudderless club at the moment, that will hopefully change very soon.
