Why do Sky Sports not factor into account all the players that have left and the money that has come in, Louis van Gaal's net spend is reasonable (this season).

Their role is to add drama to the spectacle and capture the interest of the viewers. Getting into the minutiae of net spend figures doesn't really achieve that in fairness. What I find odd is some fans on here regurgitate that same inflated figure.

I'd prefer the some of those ex players

    But maybe that's just me

The squad is more on the young side compared to the other expected top four teams, the future looks great and the fact the young players will all get plenty of games and coaching attention due to a smaller squad is good too.

The downside is that it reduces our chances of a serious title challenge this season and even next season is dependant on signing a top quality player in the summer. However I'm happy since the future of the team appears secure.

This but it's still annoying when they ignore it.

Even if Martial is young and inexperienced in the league, why not give him a go as a 9?

I predicted 7 players and I genuinely don't remember picking my line up.

Bit off topic, but why do film advert narrators say September 30 instead of September 30th, does it sound cooler?

Even without Schneiderlin and Rooney, we should be beating Liverpool today. Their starting XI is remarkably average.

That's got nothing to do with offloading some of The players we did.

Surely no one can deny having RVP would be pretty handy today

So MUTV running through the player selection with all the players introducing themselves and their position. Memphis says "striker" and Fellaini says nothing.

I'm still as optimistic as I was before the Rooney injury, we'll win this. C'mon big man!

I can see one of Pool's players losing their cool and getting a red if we unnerve them with loads of possession, as we have Schweini, Carrick, Mata and Ander together to offer enough bodies, movement and creativity. Don't believe Lucas will be up for it at all, especially when they don't even have Henderson on the field.

They are all about 8 to 10 years older than him when they joined. Big difference. His age will mean he will have a little more time.

As I said, 2-3 years. By comparison, Di Maria, Falcao, etc got 1 season.
Had we got Martial for £1M or something like that (ie. a normal youth player fee), he'd be under the raider and would probably get 5 years or more. The price tag is what adds the urgency.
Remember, we need players of a high calibre. Welbeck for example, who was also a young player, was not good enough. So being "average" will not cut it at MUFC.
Lets not get ahead of ourselves though - he hasn't played a single minute for us, so lets just wait and see.

I hope we employ high pressure tactics in this game.

Carrick and Basti in midfield tells me van Gaal will play on the counter.

Scousers will be confident with this one.
If that was the case, I believe LVG would have gone with Memphis up top and Young on the wing.

Fellaini is definitely not a counter-attacking player.

Rodgers is playing the system Swansea switched to in the second half that caused us problems last week. They'll try and get Benteke up against Blind and leave Ings to take on Smalling with his low center of gravity whilst tempting our fullbacks forwards by playing a narrow diamond in midfield and look to hit us on the break. We should have plenty of ball - if Microphone head can make it stick when it gets lumped up to him. I just hope we are a bit more clinical in the final third today instead of having all build up and no end product. Other than that, we just have to be wary of the counter attack with Firmino, Benteke and Ings they have a bit of pace up there - not as much as Swansea though (who I think are a better side than Liverpool). We should win this one.

Really bricking it now. Scousers will bring it, and it will be nervy till the end

So Mr Van Gaal, now what do you have to say about not having bought a recognised center forward? We've got enough, indeed!
