Yes. Perfect scenario for us actually. Zero pressure and going into the game with good form. Martial and Lingard are also expected to be back in time.Really hope our home fans are up for this one. They can't match our hardcore away fans but atleast this is one game where even casual fans can get themselves pumped up and create a good atmosphere.
If Old Trafford isn't up for this one then there's no hope for us. As long as Liverpool don't score early it will be difficult for them. If Klopp is any good, he'll set them up to frustrate the home fans. Then they'll have a chance of nicking something.DDG

Most recently, against both Leicester and West Ham, Liverpool struggled to break those teams down. Not only did they fail to create many chances, but they could have easily lost both of those games had the other teams been more clinical in front of goal. Both teams played a 4231.
Liverpool's use of the width means I'm not sure we can afford to play a diamond, as we'll be incredibly exposed in the wide areas. However, the cheating spaces our forwards found themselves in meant we were able to counter effectively against Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Whatever we go with, we need to counter through wide areas.

I want to throw it into my scouse colleagues' face at workHaving watched the Hererra / Sanchez interview on BBC before the Chelsea game, and having watched Sanchez when he came on against Chelsea, I really feel a lot more confident in him starting over Lukaku against Liverpool.
I'd be for Sanchez starting against Liverpool, I think he's incredibly motivated and putting everything into turning this poor form around.
Will we play a diamond though? Who knows with OGS, he will have something up his sleeve that might surprise Liverpool.
This is easily the most excited I've been ahead of a United Liverpool game in some time. Attack v Attack, license to get forward, in form players, a manager that understands the importance of the fixture. Roll on Sunday.
I think Sanchez would excel playing where Mata played at the tip of the diamond, but I don't think we can afford to ask strikers to track their attacking full backs so I can't see us using that system. They'll need one when they're 4-0 down.Still gutted that Mata scissors/overhead kick didn't go in in the first half last season to make it 3-0. They were on for an absolute drubbing that day had it hit the back of the net.

Good point.I think starting the same team as we did against Liverpool is the best way to go, as it will be total demoralising for them to see Lingard and Martial coming off the bench in the last 20 minutes to run them ragged when they're tired.I hate this fecking fixture. Let's go boys!- Status
