At first I thought it was mental that James is starting but he has probably known about this for a while and hopefully studied their left back. We've been poor on the right side whoever has played recently so it's a big chance for James.

Pogba has finally starting playing well for more than one match at a time. So it's a shame he has to start on the bench today. I would also like to give Greenwood a chance through more matches. Many forget that he is only 19 years old. He needs the trust and support.

If it's about resting players, then I'm more concerned about players like Rashford and Bruno.

If this game is open, them James is a good pick, rotation ok but I would still started with Greenwood. Midfield looks ok. Pogba bench thought he would played last 2. Boxing day he will play I think next. Let's see how it goes... come on lads good start please...

Looks like we’re only playing 2 defenders then you have to look down the whole squad list first.

No VdB AGAIN but James. Just don’t even know what to think anymore. No Greenwood either, especially when he needed to get a good run of games under his belt.

Pogba has had an amazing 2 games against tough opponents and he’s dropped. Just makes no sense.

We don't "need" Pogba though, results this season don't support that at least. He's a great option to have - right choice against Sheffield, but not for Leeds game.

The narrative that we have to control games because we're at home is tiresome. The reason we got off to such a poor start was because we tried to be something we're not.

Since the introduction of Fred and McTominay, we have looked more solid defensively but have also been able to score goals.

I wanted to see van de Beek alongside Fred for this very reason. We need to play out of the press today and the players out there aren’t capable of doing it.

Just to play the devils advocate: James has actually played very well the last few spells he's had as a sub, to his credit.

On a tactical note: This is the perfect game for James to play. Leeds will leave themselves exposed city and James happens to be quick on his feet. I tihnk we'll see an assist or two from him today. Plus the schedule ahead is absoluely grueling, we have to use make of the entire squad or risk musle injuries.
