To be fair I think he’s more of a dream option off the bench. Wasn’t great against West Ham when he started.

Pretty much how I see it. Awful line up. Bielsa will be telling his players to sprint at the Wan-Bissaka, McTominay and James trio like their lives depended on it. They’ll get something out of that press, certainly.

Tbf, he needs to pick a side that survive the Leeds onslaught. I think he’s picked the right team to compete physically to begin with and then ease to a win with subs if needed.

I don’t like the team but I wouldn’t have started Pogba either. This is not the opposition for him to be messing around with the ball in our own half and losing it.

The only rationale I see is that we sub James off at (hopefully) <60 mins and then Mason/Pogba/Donny/Cavani are the difference makers once subbed on.

I can see why you mentioned James, but McTominay and Fred have been amongst our most consistent players. Against a high energy team like Leeds, they were always going to start. We'd probably be in a much better position had we started with them at the beginning of the season.
