good to see Mata in there, we will need his creativity in that central role in breaking down a tough Juve backline. I think the Jose of old might have went with an extra defensive mid to keep it tight, but good to see. With pace on each flank and a player who can find that pass, I'm liking it

Don't agree. Not a legend in my opinion.
Your opinion. But in the opinion of the vast majority of both former United players and United supporters, as well as pretty much every objective definition of the term, he is.
Do you see Cantona as a United legend? (Of course, not the point). Ronaldo was here longer than he was. You can't be pissed at a player for not wanting to stay at a club his entire career. For what he achieved here, and being one of 4 players to ever win the ballon d'or while at the club, and the key player who set records that season and the main reason we won the CL that year... he's a legend, simple as.

Anyway, each to their own opinion. You're going to be in the small minority on this though, considering what he achieved while here.

Whenever we are late we never play well.

Please just put on a good performance lads! The whole world is watching let’s win this game!

I have to say, the relationship between Ronaldo and many United fans is a bizarre one. I'm not saying he should be booed or anything like that, as that's equally pathetic, but i personally don't think he should have a heroes welcome either. He's been back once, and a he got a good reception, but move on. They guy isn't a United legend, he's a Madrid legend, who's now playing for another team again since he moved from United.

He wasn't let go by us, he wanted out and was quite adamant and outspoken about it. He didn't want to stay at United, and would have happily left sooner. The way some pine for him is a little sad and ridiculous. At least in the opinion of this miserable sod.

    Agreed.

Have never understood it. One of the best players to grace our shirt, sure, but he seemed almost desperate to leave once he reached a good level.
He has also been using our clubs name to get an improved contract almost every year since he left. His heart has always belonged to Real Madrid.

Juventus Starting XI: Szczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Bentancur, Pjanic, Matuidi; Cuadrado, Ronaldo, Dybala

Subs: Perin, De Sciglio, Benatia, Barzagli Bernardeschi, Douglas Costa, Kean

Whoever is in charge of logistics for us needs to be sacked. There's no reason for this to occur over and over again.

Manchester traffic is absolutely abysmal recently with all the road works and road closures around old Trafford. Still you would think someone would factor this in.

If it was up to me the squad would be at old Trafford for 3pm and focused on the game since then

Decent team absolute nothing to come off the bench if we need a goal.

Been a recurring theme of this terrible post-Ferguson era, us not turning up to matches on time.

How the hell can we be late? They're staying even closer to OT this time around. Forget the bus and just walk down the road! Absolute state of us.

A joke about us not turning up to matches at all would be fitting here, but it would be too easy

Isn't this supposedly why they stayed at a different hotel.

Szczesny was in goal for United 8 - Arsenal - 2. And I think this Juve defence can be got at with pace. It'll be a high scoring game.

Hes a lot better since then, but yes I think their defence can be got at.

No idea why, but this is really making me so mad. Maybe because I'm a nutter about being on time. How they cannot plan for this is mind boggling.

Damnit, got 10/11. Swapped Mata for Fred at the last minute. Thought he'd be fresh for this one.

    Agree with this!

First off, i never wanted to turn this into a legend or not debate. It's all opinions and nobody is wrong in this. There's no strict definition to what makes a legend, just arbitrary "rules" that we set. He went to Madrid, won 4 Champions Leagues, 4 ballon d'ors (i think), broke all kinds of goal scoring records including being their all time best goalscorer. He's their legend. And in another completely arbitrary rule, i don't like the idea of a player being a legend for two different clubs. Also, i'm not pissed at him leaving. I was merely stating the facts.

And you saying "simple as" in that definitive way, also doesn't make it so. But anyway, i'm not interested in having people agree with my take on it. The point i was making is that the hero worship he still commands after giving his best years to another team that he was desperate to join is a little silly. That's it, really.
