Be wrong for Jose to drop players today, especially as his poor tactics were a major part as to why our players didn't perform against Spurs.

You can't just put a team together and think they will perform. It's all about balance, and against Spurs we had none, hence why we conceded so many chances and looked clueless going forward.

It's been the same all season when up against the 'top 6'.
I agree on the whole but in Shaw's case if he isn't going to play today he may as well pack his bags. Theoretically the easiest home game we'll get this season in the league given Huddersfield's form. Young can play against Newcastle, then Shaw again v Huddersfield/Birmingham and Young back as starter for Sevilla, Chelsea etc.

Please, just not Martial or Rashford on the right. Sánchez transfer might end up being a disaster, he becoming our better player but we becoming a worse team.

    de Gea
    Valencia - Smalling - Rojo - Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera - Pogba
    Sanchez - Lukaku - Martial
No need to make too many changes. Shaw, Rojo and Herrera in for Young, Jones and Lingard. Martial back on the left wing and Sanchez in a free role.

Would be pretty lame to drop pogba and make an example of him. Doesn't do anyone any good. If he wants to drop, drop young and bring shaw, drop matic and play Herrera . Sanchez must play with pogba and martial and gel together. What is the point of getting one world class only to drop pogba.

    Think Martial will miss out.

    Lukaku
    Sanchez Lingard Mata

    Or

    Lukaku
    Rashford Sanchez Mata

    12:57KEY EVENT
    Leaked Manchester United XI
A United XI has leaked ahead of kick-off and includes McTominay in for Pogba. It is worth reiterating that the leaked XIs almost always include a deliberate error or deliberate errors as part of Mourinho’s annual mole hunt. He was furious about the attack getting leaked for the City game, and full XIs have been scarce since, but one is doing the rounds again today.

The leaked XI is: De Gea, Valencia, Smalling, Rojo, Shaw, Matic, McTominay, Mata, Sanchez, Lingard, Lukaku. It remains to be seen if it’s the confirmed XI.

Hope he gets it right after the disappointment of the 50th anniversary game. This is definitely the games to put on a great performance.

It would be plain crazy for Mourinho to pick a fight with Pogba, even if he just got his contract renewed.

    9/11!

For me the balance of the team has to come first.

So if Jesse, Mata and Sanchez play it’s like playing 3 no.10’s in one side.

Jose has to build the side around Sanchez now otherwise it will turn out to be another opportunistic signing that wasn’t used correctly.

Exactly. If you don't use your players correctly, then you won't get good performances out of them. It's as simple as that!

If Jose wanted a box to box midfielder in a double pivot, then Pogba wasn't his man.

This, especially if Mourinho persists on playing him down the left or down the middle.
Down the middle, at home, might not be that bad, he even tried it with Rashford once, and even if that keeps Pogba on the rightcenter…

To be fair those players deserved to be dropped so let' back the manager.

I just want to see us play

    Martial - Lukaku - Sanchez
    Pogba - Matic - Herrera
    Shaw - x - x - Valencia

    Once, just once.

It would be plain crazy for Mourinho to pick a fight with Pogba, even if he just got his contract renewed.
It's not just that, right now we have bigger things to focus on and not make silly examples after losing one game. We have CL football coming, we have to look into next season and build a team. Sometimes being logical does world of good. You won't see poch drop kane after one bad game or pep drop kdb. This is why I also believe dropping martial after one game doesn't make sense one bit. Try to gel the team with Sanchez on board rather than trying to fix what is not broken. It's like moving one step forward and taking two step backwards.

Same here if true. Could have been a lot worse for me as had Jones and Young in originally before switching to Rojo and Shaw after what Jones' sister said.

I'd be surprised if anyone got full points - even DanNistelrooy.
He didn't arrive with the squad, no need of his sister's confirmation. Herrera didn't also, but he might be there.

    Who's that then?
Bluemooners are going into overdrive about Brahim Diaz slightly. His contract expires in 2019.
Cant help but see a similarity to Messi in him.
Both he and Foden are two players who have the potential to be first teamers within the next three years.

Although he spurned a glorious chance last night, his attempted dink/lob was reminiscent of a young Lionel Messi.

They said yesterday that Matic is carrying an injury, yet he keeps on playing him. That seems madness.
Considering Carrick wasn't ready, who do you think should have been our #6 all this time?

Sat at a friend's wedding and planning to give him the slip in about half an hour's time for a 1.5 hr drive back home to watch the game. Expect nothing less than a 4-0 win with a hattrick by Sanchez for all the trouble.:)

Ok, but it wasn't just a bad game from Pogba, seemed more he gave up and wasn't accepting the manager's directions. I really think he dislikes playing in the rightcenter of a midfield two.

There was as we didn't know he was ill beforehand and players have not been pictured with squad before but have traveled separately.
Players, like Mkhitaryan and Blind, yes. Not Jones.

I do not understand why Martial misses out. He has done far more than Lukaku and I personally would like Martial to play up front with Sanchez left and another on the right. We will be more fluid in attack. I wonder how many goals martial would have scored playing up front.

Even against Huddersfield that 11 doesn't exactly strike me with confidence. Without Pogba/Martial (I'm aware they were shite) we've lost a huge amount of our attacking threat.

It would be plain crazy for Mourinho to pick a fight with Pogba, even if he just got his contract renewed.

Why not? If the rumours are to be believed, Pogba failed to follow the instructions of his manager and picked an argument with him in front of other players. Why shouldn't he be dropped if that is true? Every player must be treated equally. We are always too quick to jump to the defence of players.
I admit I don't have the facts but if Jose drops Pogba, we have to find out why he did that first before drawing any conclusions. If so called super star players can do anything or play anyhow without repercussions, it messes up the dressing room.

Dropping Pogba would be a mistake. He's by far our best passer and most creative player and he can easily play in a 2 man midfield against Huddersfield.

Nothing confirmed but I’ll be livid if any of this is true. Actually so stupid. Shaw should be in though.

Expect us to struggle if we don't get an early goal. A new unfamiliar line up will only make things worse.

If he'd have done that to Fergie he'd have been out the door the next window.

If it is, why the hell didn't she say something before i picked my fantasy team!?

Exactly this. Always bloody breaks after the transfer!
Took Christensen out too, who has been a joke for 5 game weeks.

Big match today, only a win will do. Will gain ground on at least one of the top 4 challengers. Plus needs a response from the players.
