I attended the last Man United v Galatasaray game in the Champions League in Old Trafford. (11 years ago)

A match United won 1-0 with early goal from Carrick. Jonny Evans started for United (whatever happened to him?) and Galatasaray started with Nordin Amrabat in midfield a brother of Sofyan.

I'll be more than happy with another 1-0 Man United win.

The squad isn't as perky as they used to be. Lots of glum faces:

Seems like there is quite a bit of confusion with this new training exercise towards the end of the video.

    Thanks for sharing.

What have Pellistri and Martial done over Rashford and Bruno to show they should start?
Martial actually scored against Crystal Palace last week. I know it seems strange following this team, but that's what forwards are usually in the team for. Martial has actually looked decent in his limited game time this season, but it's understandable that most fans have lost any patience they had for him.

I agree with Pellistri as he hasn't actually shown anything apart from completely freezing when he gets too close to goal. He's just lucky we're missing our 3 first choice right wingers at the moment as he looks nowhere near ready for this level.

Its obvious ETH is losing the dressing room.

We’ll probably manage a narrow win, and then you will get that slight sense of positivity, like we may have turned a corner somehow. Then we will lose 1-2 to Brentford on Saturday, getting another injury in the process.

Have looked at Gala team, :D they are better than palace for sure. Either we change shape or we will lose.
I’m not sure they are that much better than Palace.

Also we dominated Palace and lost to (pretty much) a wonder strike. We struggled to get through their low block but we did manage it several times and just lacked the finishing touch. We don’t need to change the plan we just need to execute it a little bit better.

Surely we can beat these at Old Trafford? They barely managed to scrape a draw against Copenhagen in Turkey!

Fernandes and Rashford shouldn't be starting. It's time to end this charade. I might reconsider spending my time watching this dross.

I mean, look at all those glum faces.
Probably for the benefit of the media. “We’re not happy that we lost, we take our job seriously”. They probably are a bit disappointed in themselves, understandably.

You can’t go from that to EtH obviously losing the dressing room. But you can make a silly joke about it - I got no problem with that!

Just realised Muslera still plays for this lot, seems like he's been playing for them for about 40 years at this stage.

I wonder which of their many former PL players is going to show up and have the game of their life for one night only at OT?

My moneys on that shitebag Davinson Sanchez turning into prime Maldini for 90 mins.

Sanchez didn't start the last CL game they had, though the Turk they had partnered with Nelsson looked a bit shaky (and kinda short and stout for a top level CB).

Other takeways from watching that 25 minute Mini-Match thing of their game vs Copenhagen:

-They looked pretty open, might be able to beat them on the counter
-They look to feed Icardi in behind, unsurprisingly
-The random Turk on the left wing did not look as good as football as Zaha
-Boey is highly rated and there seems to be a lack of exciting young RBs available, so bit of an audition season in the CL for him, could end up at a club like ours or another big one who doesn't have a star at RB (Liverpool, City and Madrid are both running out of time with Walker and Calabria)
-Demirbay and Ziyech switch the ball very well, so if they can get on the ball they might be able to switch it long to Zaha and isolate him in some 1 on 1s which is concerning

    Vaguely tactical thoughts:
-Might be a good game for Hannibal or Mount to create some turnovers as a #10. They played Mertens as a #10 and Demirbay with Torreira so that's not a strong, physical or quick midfield, nothing special in terms of dribbling or strength. Maybe they'll play Ndombele instead of Mertens since it's away?
-Ziyech isn't particularly fast anymore and wants to come inside and create so might be a good game to start Lindelof at LB so Amrabat can play in the middle, but Tete looked quick off the bench so the last 20 minutes might be worrying in that area of the pitch
-If Sanchez doesn't play, Hojlund might be able to outrun their Turk LCB
-Their personnel doesn't seem suited to sitting deep for 90 minutes, so I sort of expect us to concede but also have a bit of joy on the counter, so I'm expecting Rashford to start instead of Garnacho.

regardless of how many washed up players they gather, Turkish clubs, just like the Russian clubs are never really good. I might regret this post later, but I seriously doubt it. 3-1, United win.

Naturally I'd be disappointed if Ten Hag has indeed, like those that came before him post SAF, lost the dressing room.

How are we still having managers lose the dressing room, especially coming off the back of a relatively decent previous campaign ?

SAF never lost the dressing room. He still knew where it was.

Its disappointing from ETH perspective. You need to remember where the dressing room was.
I don't care if the dressing room has wheels. You need to be able to anticipate its next move.

I wonder if we played Martial with Hojlund if that would help him. Martial just inbehind helping link.

    Onana
    Lindelof - Varane - Maguire - Dalot
    Casemiro - Amrabat
    Bruno - Martial - Garnacho
    Hojlund

I do think Martial in the team with Hojlund is worth a look but I think Hojlund is doing okay without help in the middle. I’d try Martial LW. Garnacho off the bench at 60mins.

God forbid we win comfortably, many posters will be gutted.

I was at OT for a certain David Beckhams first goal for the club in a 4-0 victory 30 years ago

    Oh, its a home game?

    Easy win for Galatasaray then.

How I would like to see us set up tonight. Would like to see Amrabat in midfield tonight.

    Onana
    Lindelof, Varane, Maguire, Dalot
    Casemiro, Amrabat
    Mount, Bruno, Rashford

Don't care about this game in particular, but still will watch as a long time United fan. All my interest is in how will/if the Glazer issue be resolved in recent future. This season is a write off, we won't be in UCL next year(we'll be lucky to be in Europa League the way we're playing and considering all the issues). ETH maybe gets the sack at the end of season, not sure.

Another one who needs to get a grip

We need to just play players based on performance. Rashford benched, Mount benched, Pellistri benched. At least Hojlund deserves a chance to bed in.

    Onana

    Dalot
    Amrabat
    Lindelof
    Varane

    Casemiro
    Hannibal
    Bruno

    Garnacho
    Hojlund
    Antony

The squad isn't as perky as they used to be. Lots of glum faces:

Looks like Eriksen has had quite the hair transplant in that thumbnail

So why is Bruno in the team? He’s been awful

How do you know it's new? Looks like a fairly simple drill to me. If they are getting confused by that then there's not much hope for them.

Same team that played against Palace in the cup last week. That was our best team performance of the season so far.

    Onana

    Dalot - Varane - Maguire - Amrabat

    Casemiro - Mount

    Pellistri - Hannibal - Garnacho

    Martial
Bayindir, Lindelof, Evans, Eriksen, McTominay, Bruno, Antony, Hojlund, Rashford

    Manchester United 1-0 Galatasaray

Might as well drop CL. We're not gonna win. Should focus on EPL to get top 5.
Drop the CL to focus on top 5 to get CL... so that we next season drop the CL and focus on getting top 5 again?

Look glum, they're unhappy, don't want to be here, manager's lost them. Look happy, don't they know we're in a mess, they don't care, just here for the money. It's classic damned if you do/don't stuff.

We are getting spanked by 4.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they got a “no goofing around while the cameras are here, lads”. Besides, I saw a longer clip from the public training session and there were plenty of smiles. They can’t really win (until they literally start winning!).

Honestly i'd rather see these players lose the dressing room instead. i know we have been poor this season but eth has been doing the right things steering the club into the right decision.

SAF had total control of the club and the dressing, he could kick star players out without much fuss, meanwhile eth couldnt even kick maguire and mct out because the club wanted more money for them. the sharks, i mean players can taste the blood and i'm afraid they'd go for it.
