A loss here and talks of a sack will start pouring in the papers. The journos will be out ready to twist their knives. Some of them would have already started an article about it.

    —————-Onana——————
    Lindelof-Varane-Evans-Dalot
    ——Amrabat—Mount———
    —————Bruno————--
    Antony—————Garnacho
    ————Hojland——————

Would like this but no way is ETH dropping Gashford and Casemiro.

    --------------Onana
    --------Varane--Maguire
    --Dalot--Casemiro--Amrabat
    -------Mejbri------Mount
    Bruno----Martial----Rashford

    Onana

    Lindelof -- Varane -- Maguire -- Dalot

    ------------Amrabat --- Casemiro----------

    Mount----------Bruno-----------Rashford

    -----------------Hojlund ---------------------------

I understand calls for Rashford to be dropped and don't think he could complain if he was. I think Ten Hag will try and play him back to form as an in-form / scoring Rashford is the only way we are going to be successful this season - also, Garnacho is still much more effective off the bench.

I would go back to basics in defence and play 4 actual defenders - Dalot can move inside / invert which he did at LB well last season. Amrabat has looked good in central positions but struggled in the LB scenarios (understandable). With that said I could also see Amrabat as the LB and Hannibal coming into the midfield too

I think we will not win this one, I predict a poor 1-1

Galata has a pretty good team (Sanchez, Torreira, Icardi, Zaha, Mertens, Ndombele) and it will be difficult for us, especially when we can't create much.

Normally we should rotate for these games and win confortably, but I am sure it will be again a painful game to watch.

    -----------------------------------------------Onana----------------------------------------------
    Dalot--------------------------Varane-------------Lindelof------------------Amrabat
    ----------------------------------Casemiro---------Mount----------------------------------
    Rashford--------------------------------Bruno--------------------------------Garnacho
    ----------------------------------------------Hojlund--------------------------------------------

Could be a tough one, lots of good players that be motivated to deal us another death blow.

I can see our players putting in more effort for a CL game like this though.

Anything who thinks Ten Hag is dropping Bruno and Rashford needs to give their heads a wobble. He doesn't rotate based on form, we've seen that ever since he joined. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he pick the same side after the 7-0 smashing to the Scousers?

It'll be the same team there or thereabouts as Palace, and we'll see more of the same. Disjointed from back to front, treating the ball as a hot coal and I'm expecting more dropped points. A draw.

The same performance vs Palace and we lose this.

I don't care who starts and who is benched, all I want to see is a good performance and goals

Yet another absolute must win..... Not convinced we will though.

really really hoping to see the below:

    -----------------------------Onana------------------------
    Dalot-----------Varane--------Maguire-----------Amrabat
    -----------------Casemiro------Hannibal---------------------
    Mount-------------------Bruno-------------------------Garnacho
    ----------------------------Hojlund-------------------------------

For me, that's our best team at this moment in time. Unfortunately. I expect Mount to be in the middle instead of Hannibal, Rashford and Lindelof to start.

Another long frustrating night ahead. If he starts Lindelof / Rashford and gets another poor result then his decision making really has to be questioned hugely.

Oh - and I expect Zaha to have a field day.

Very difficult game and Manchester United seems to be a big favorite for this game, at least according to betting sides.

This will be a difficult game and I wont be surprized if Galatasaray wins at Old Trafford, I actually exepct them to win the game for several reasons

    1) we are in a bad period and bad mood over a long-period is rarely good when you play teams like Galatasaray
    2) Galatasary have a lot of good players with high international experience including but not limited to Angelino, Ziyech, Tete, Davinson Sanchez, Ndolbele, Torreira, Muslera, Icardi etc.
    3) Galatasaray has not lost a single game in 20 games in a row, and the last game they lost was a derby game away to Besiktas
    4) The Manchester United game is a huge game for the turkish side and they will be TOOP motivated while the game isn't as big a game for the Brittish side and hence makes it more difficult for the manager to motivate the team especially with all the things going around in the head of the players at the moment

    Hannibal needs to start.

We need energy in the midfield, someone who is always on the move. Dragging players out of position and creating space.

We lacked this on Saturday, we were too static.

We need to get an early goal to keep the spirits alive. Because we seem to do better when we can smell blood.

    Onana
    Dalot Varane Maguire Lindelöf Amrabat
    Casemiro Hannibal Mount
    Hojlund Martial

    Onana
Dalot - Maguire (FFS) - Varane - Lindelof
    Amrabat - Casemiro
    Antony - Mejbri - Garnacho
    Hojlund

    Onana
    Lindelof - Evans - Maguire - Dalot
    Amrabat - Hannibal
    Eriksen
    Anthony - Martial - Garnacho

Casemiro definitely needs a rest here and wouldn't start Mount or Varane 3 games in a row so soon after injury.

    I would play:

    Onana

    Dalot
    Maguire
    Evans
    Lindelof

    Amrabat
    Hannibal

    Garnacho
    Eriksen
    Pellistri

    Martial

But ETH will not drop Bruno, and I very much doubt that he'll play that back line, as I imagine he'll stick with Amrabat at LB.

Ultimately it probably doesn't matter. They are in good form this season and don't concede many goals, and we're an absolute catastrophe.

I expect they'll win this, and if they do that's curtains for us in the group.

I'm looking at these line ups and I am in total disbelief that we have spent over £1Billion assembling this squad. We're fecked.

We might draw this. If we lose, the club will be in yet another short-lived crisis.

As if we play CL games without our star player and the captain. Not that I disagree with you. There’s a very slim chance Rashford is dropped, but 100% Bruno plays. My captain always plays.

This is a problem for ETH, and the club. Bruno needs to rest and maybe could benefit from some perspective from the sidelines.

Can't believe we haven't two fit full backs at the club. Can't we bring in a Youth player for a game?

Amrabat in midfield, alongside Casimero (because he needs the fitness, responsibility and sharpness..) with Mount. Play Rasmus, Garnacho and one other. Probably Bruno from the right. Can't be playing Amrabat at left back.

I thought Zaha went to Saudi. Strange choice to park himself in Istanbul at 30 -- when he could have played at another PL club or gone for the riches in the Middle East.

    • He's always liked to be a big fish in a small pond.
    • Istanbul is a great city, decent night life too, it's very European in the way it looks/feels.
    • He probably gets paid decent money there too.
    • I suspect he's hoping to get some exposure from European matches etc and then maybe in a few years try a retirement league.

Yeap. I loved Istanbul myself. Very exotic city

It's also a huge club. 52k capacity, European football, and the country is football mad.

Must win match, but will be difficult. If we put out the same team as against Palace this weekend we will lose again.

    Onana
    Dalot - Varane - Lindelöf - Amrabat
    Casemiro - Hannibal
    Bruno - Mount - Garnacho
    Højlund

Are we expecting Reguilon to be fit here? If so:

    Onana

    Dalot
    Varane
    Maguire
    Reguilon

    Casemiro
    Amrabat

    Mount
    Bruno
    Rashford

    Martial

Every defeat brings this ownership closer to the exit door, horrible sentiment but its the only silver lining at the moment, lose this one and it's going to be a struggle to get out of the group, unless it's into the Europa League and back to Thursday nights, tough times.

    No it doesn't.

Just support the team and hope we win - it's all very easy.

People worry about lineups and say "Don't play the kids, that's ridiculous we will lose", but does anybody have any confidence in our first team? We have lost to a worse team within the week?

I would genuinely want to give the squad a wake up call and go:

    Onana
Dalot Varane Maguire Lindelof (Lindelof lucky to get game time as we don't have a fit LB)
    Amrabat Hannibal
    Pellistri Mount Garnacho
    Martial

Drop Rashford, Bruno & Casemiro, show the team that you if you don't perform you don't get in, simple.

You could ask the same of Maguire who put in a decent shift last game and you are only as good as your last game, dropping Hojlund wasn't as much of a punishment as it was a rotation as he is starting to get the limelight and he is too young and at this stage I believe we need to give both game time so if one is injured the other isn't coming in from the cold. Pellistri has looked impressive at Bayern and OK against palace, he hasn't set the world alight but definitely plays more for the team and puts the work in than Rashford does, I wouldn't be against Antony coming in.

    Onana

Dalot Varane Maguire Lindelof (only cause everyone else is injured)
    Amrabat
    Mount Bruno
    Antony/Pellstri Garnacho
    Hojlund

Rashford did 10 times more against Palace than Pellestri. And that's not me saying Rashford played well because he didn't but Pellstri offered nothing at all and frankly it was a shock he came out for the second half.

Let's agree to differ but I don't feel Rashford plays for the team, he plays for himself and he is lively and a far more accomplished player currently but if he has an off game which is all too frequent, the whole team suffer.

Pellistri shouldn't be playing any games at this club, he's the non-threatening version of James and Elanga.
