Is it that great a mark though? Van Gaal was fired a day after winning it. Wenger's last years are seen as disappointing despite winning it what, three times?

I do agree that he won't rest players though. I'd just prefer it if he did, the fixture congestion will be bad enough as it is.

It’s a bloody trophy. If you don’t want us to go full tilt at winning one then I’m at a loss as to why you’re into this football thing at all.

Rest Rashford, Casemiro, Shaw, De Gea and Bruno

    Heaton
    Dalot
    Malacia
    Varane
    Martinez
    Mctominay
    Eriksen
    Iqbal
    Antony
    Garnacho
    Martial

That team should be well able to win. Need to get Martial and Antony going.

For those in the US, is my only option to watch by subscribing to ESPN+? None of my usual stream sites are up anymore since the World Cup

    DDG
    Dalot/Varane/Martinez/Malacia
    McFred
    Antony/Bruno/Garnacho
    Martial

If Antony is out, then Elanga
If Martial is out, then Rashford

Blimey, don’t tell me he’s an injury doubt again! Unless I have completely missed something to state that.

Mostly agree here. There will be a little tweaking due to upcoming suspensions, but the Bournemouth rotation and that upcoming Charlton game, this should pretty much be a full-strength squad. Really don't want players getting rusty.

That's right, and we shouldn't forget that we're already weakened a bit when we go to full strength.

Ronaldo is gone. Whatever one thinks of Ronaldo, the fact is we're short a proper striker.
Sancho is out for the time being. Being without a 100m winger is a blow.
Antony is probably not going to start. He just returned to training on Wednesday.

We need to go as full strength as we can. Is Shaw for example needs a day off to maintain fitness, fine. But if he doesn't and/or if other regular starters are good to go, this is no match to faff about and assume we're going to steamroll Everton. Let's smash them and if we're in good shape in the 60th minute then bring on fresh legs.

The XI picks itself, but the interesting decisions will be the two CBs. I'd go with Varane and Martinez but ETH might give Maguire the start and bring on Martinez for Maguire late and then start Martinez v Charlton so that he's match fit for Citeh.

I love watching United play but we're playing every 3 days. We've been luck this year, we always seem to have an injury crisis.

You think we've been lucky? Varane, Sancho, Antony, Dalot have all missed multiple weeks with injuries. Not to mention Martial our starting striker missed the majority of the first half of the season when we were already super thin there.

We haven't had any full on crisis, but I wouldn't say we've been lucky either.

I definitely think we'll have to make some hard choices at some point in the future because we simply don't have the squad to play in 3 different cups along with our push in the league. Hopefully we can get some easy draws to allow for bigger rotation similar to Charlton though.

I think people saying we should field a weakened team probably are missing a huge element in psychology and building a winning mentality.

Winning something like the FA cup can correlate with building the mental fortitude required to create a team of winners.

Especially when our next match is up against a League One side next week. If we're determined to rest some players, we can do it there.

Yeah a few changes tonight will suffice, could be even more youthful bench with no Donny for a while now

When games are coming so quick there is only 2-3 days of rest between them, you need to rotate a bit to keep players fit.

Apologies - I agree. I was speaking more to the people who are saying winning the FA Cup isn't a big deal or important.

    Play the best team available.
Slam them then make subs as early as possible and slow the game right down to conserve energy once a lead and cushion is established

That would be lovely. I have a feeling we may be in for a difficult night.

There were some rumours but he was training yesterday apparently. Let’s hope he’s fit!

Good game for some laggards to start trying to build some form. Antony and Martial in particular.

    I'd like to try this:

    -------------------------De Gea-------------------------
    ----------Varane -- Martinez -- Shaw---------
    Elanga------------------------------------- Malacia
    ---------------Casamiro ---- Fred------------------
    --------Fernandes----------------Rashford------
    --------------------------Martial------------------------
