Big call but the right one. Almost think Rashford in his current form should be used like a late sub against some tired defenders.

At the very least I expect that front three to work bloody hard.

I’m glad we have managed to bench the player who slows down attacks by standing over the ball and facing off the defender before either passing it square or passing it backwards or running directly into the defender with a player who stands over the ball facing off a defender before either passing it square or passing it backwards or running directly into the defender.

    Rashy DROPPED

    Shaw LB- no Kobbie

    :(

I guess it's to expected, as ten Hag is making sure he manages his minutes. He and Amrabat seem to rotating, and to be fair to Amrabat, I thought he had a decent game against Galatasary. Hopefully, we'll see a good performance from him tonight.

United drifted from about 2.6 to 3 on the betting exchanges, which is a big shift, after the team leaked. That’s pretty brutal at home against a bottom half side and a damning appraisal of how the markets view United’s lineup.

However the game plays out, dropping Rashford was the right call.

That's our current best front 3.

We'll be let down again by the midfield though.

Hes been good in the league. A bizarre difference in performance between competitions.

Saw a picture on facebook the other day, which said Hojlund is top scorer in UCL but has 0 PL goals, and Onana has most clean sheets in the PL but has conceded the most in the UCL. :wenger:

That's our current best front 3.
Antony has one league goal in over a year. Talk about being the beneficiary of familiarity breeding contempt. Players always improve when they are sat on the bench, hey.

We need one of the front 3 to actually be able to hold the ball and allow some level of control of possession. For all the focus on the midfield it is hard to keep the ball when the front 3 are all head down, tunnel vision merchants. Antony, for all his flaws does bring come composure on the ball.

Same old godawful midfield balance then.

This oddly reminds me of the 2010 WC when Gareth Barry was injured for the first two games. By the time he came back for the third group game, pundits were talking about him as he was prime Lothar Matthaus coming back to rescue the team.

That should be the front 3 from now on. Hopefully that's the last we see of Rashford and Martial.

People have such short memories, Was only a few weeks people were talking about getting rid of Antony in January.

Yes, to be fair to him, he put in a good performance against Galatasaray and based on that, he should have probably started against Newcastle. That being said, the sad fact is, neither of our current wingers are consistent enough to stamp a position down, unfortunately.

I think (hope) we need at least 2 attacking players in the summer.

Yeah, why we didn't we play one of our other wingers like, erm, Pellistri. He showed real composure vs Galatasaray didn't he.

He has got balls then for dropping Rashford. Still a disappointing line up. Think we’ll struggle to win this one

    McT, Amrabat and Bruno midfield:lol:

Let's not kid ourselves, we barely deserve to be a top 8 team.

I'd have probably played Reguilon left back, as I actually liked Shaw and Maguire as our centre backs. Think they did well against Newcastle, especially when you take into consideration how much pressure they were under. Hopefully, Lindelof has a solid game.

Our is our midfield so poor?! After all the money we’ve spent. We’ve got the worse midfield out of the top 5. An abandoned position for years

Am contemplating if it worth the hassle of streaming this shitefest before it even begins

Lucky to make squad after Newcastle

Totally agree, I’d nearly rather some random youths but that’s just me being childish.

If Rashford comes on and doesn’t work hard I hope the crowd rips into him. I can forgive poor form but you can’t blame a player not trying on a manager , that’s all the player.

Still no repercussions to McTominay's godawful performance. When he gets into this team it's always almost impossible to drop him.

    Ugh McTominay :(

Guess the amount of touches he’ll register in the first half. I’ll go first. 16.

and then some, not sure if there is a worse midfield (as a balanced unit) in the league
