Di Maria's highlight game was against QPR at home. I mean, he was really playing in every attacking position without to shine. He's fast and skilled, yes but that's it. No ideas, no creativity for a man with a superstar reputation. So, I'm disappointed with him. A top-top player doesn't care where he's playing, he makes his contributions and goals everywhere.
I think it applies to both he and Van Persie. There was a break, somewhere around the half-hour mark, where Van Persie had the ball in acres around the centre-circle and he slowed it down to a snail's pace, dawdling on the ball. I think they should both be benched and Rooney played where he is most effective. Mind-boggling stuff from Van Gaal.

The defence are doing their bit to bail out our atrocious forwards but what are the attackers doing?
Falcao and Rooney have lost the ball almost every time they've touched it. Van Persie and Di Maria haven't been much better. Januzaj has had a go but the rest of them bar McNair look happy to stand there and watch him do it.
We can complain about Rooney not being up front all we like but there's no excuse for his inability to find a red shirt with a 5 yard pass. Multiple times. I'd drop him, RVP and Falcao. Give Wilson a run up front on his own. He's the only one who's looked close to the standard required up there this year. Put Mata behind him and Di Maria/Januzaj out wide.

I don't know why people keep crying about that. Blind and Carrick are out, that's it, we have no more DMs available. Pretty pointless if we try it with Fellaini, Herrera or Rooney, we will be overrun with any of those. Much more important that we drop our 2 useless strikers, pretty pointless right now to play both.Burnley have played really well so far. Their attack looks more dangerous when they come forward.
Otherwise we're playing average at best. We have more possession yet the majority of the action is happening in our own half. We can't seem to get our strikers involved in the game. Falcao has lost the ball virtually every time he's touched it so far while Van Persie has seen little of the penalty box. Rooney at the base of the diamond won't ever look right to me. He should be up front.

I was gutted this afternoon because I couldn't make it to the game. Sat at home and, for the first time ever, I don't miss being in my seat.
What a dire performance. At the very least we deserve to see some passion, and we're really lacking that at the moment. We have so many big-name players, yet none are able to take a game like this by the scruff of the neck.
Extremely disappointing. Players look lost, manager looks stubborn. Hard to tell from the commentary on the radio, but it sounds like there has been booing at times. Even the commentators are being sarcastic about long balls, saying it's only a matter of time until we resort to Plan B, Fellaini.- Status
