There's no personnel problems; Burnley are organised and on their game. We just have to do better.

Spent most of the half camped around their area, only thing to complain about is the lack of good opportunities created.

Seriously. Cringing at the hysteria on display here. We've done nothing but attack and Burnley have done feck all but foul and block shots. Rashford should have scored, and we've created some decent chances. All we need is patience.

Hopefully that Rashford miss won't prove costly.

Think we'll need to make some changes at HT. I'd sub on Sanchez/Lingard for Mata and instruct Lukaku to make runs inside the full back and center back. Herrera for Periera too.

It's time to stop giving Mata minutes just because he's a nice guy.

One thing that’s been very disappointing is Pereira. His defensive nous is non existing, players are running circles around him and he is chasing shadows.

Lukaku and Mata are the problem, they're too slow.
Pogba looks off, maybe he needs a rest.

Don't understand the Shaw criticism, he's been our best player.

My lord the hype for Peirrera was odd before the Reading game.Hopefully this match further illustrates his mediocrity, while underlining the hasty need to hype up our youth players.

Fred must really be struggling if Pereira is considered a better option.

Need changes at HT not by 60 or 70 minute mark. Ole got the lineup wrong completely

A 1 0 is good enough if we get it. The players are knackered mentally and physically so resting a bunch of players was needed. I have not watched the first half but i suspect from the comments it has been bad. I am not surprised given lukaku and mata started which immediately tells me there will be a slower pace. I wouldn't panic just yet, i am hoping Ole has drilled in the fact the game is only over when the whistle blows at 90. This is a good test for the lads, hopefully they come off good.

Surprised to see Lukaku getting such abuse he's bern alright, better than Rashford so far.

Sanchez for Mata and we'd look better imo.

NBCSN comm saying Bardsley "stayed just within the laws of the game. He had hold of Rashford but let go in the knick of time."

Meaning he let go of him before the ref saw what was happening … that is not staying within the laws of the game. That's cheating.

It's good defending, if you get away with it. Cheating is such a dramatic word, defenders have to push the edge of what they can get away with to do their job.

Herrera on for Pereira, Sanchez on for Mata, Lingard on for Lukaku and Rashford to go up top. I'm not saying these changes necessarily all need to happen at half time but I'd be supremely confident if it happened.

i turned it on right as the game started- what’s our formation?

If Mata is out on the RW I have no idea why, as a false 9 he would be way more effective up the middle with Rashford and Lukaku drifting in.

Also super surprised to see matic not rested

It's worrying that we can't rotate the team without such dramatic drops in performance.

We have created enough to be firmly in the lead, the quality hasn't been there. Burnley will get tired after a while, and the game will open up a bit I think.

It hasn't been a good game, but not half as bad as half the people in here seem to think.

I'm gonna have to get myself to specsavers. Apparently Juan Mata is at fault for everything.

How people are mentioning Mata before the diabolical Ashley Young I'll never know.

Mata and Perreira are the weakest link.

I see Lukaku is now impersonating the statue of liberty.

Some of the criticism here is well over the top.

Some people listing half the team as shite.

We've not been that bad, to be honest.

Burnley have been typically dogged in their defensive duties, utterly refusing to submit.

Maybe it's time to bring back Jose.

I think the movement of Lingard is what we are missing. He leads from the front with the high press and drags people all over the place. This leaves space for the others to run into. I think we will see Jesse come on for Mata on the 60 minute mark. Then Sanchez for Lukaku 10 mins later. We are also missing Herrera tonight, but we have to rotate to keep the fringe players fit and interested. It's a fine balance. Fergie did the same thing.

    2 things stand out.

    1. We're not winning the ball back aggressively high up the pitch. We are missing Herrera.

    2. Our 75m lb elephant in the corner. We're effectively playing with 10 men. There is no movement at all in the middle so we're resorting to spraying it out to a right back who can't cross.

I would hook Pereira at half time and Lukaku at 60 mins and get Herrera and Lingard on.

This is what i dont get with Young, when he played for Villa he was one of the deadliest set piece takers in the league, his crossing was excellent, he could dribble, shoot, he was great.

He signs for us and cant cross the fecking road.

Spot on mate. It's beyond embarrassing. I think half of the supporters in this thread only started supporting United since Ole got appointed caretaker. I'm pissing myself at some of their comments. :D

Pereira, Lukaku, Jones, Young and an aged Matic and Mata are between poor/shite on a normal day to be fair.

We've been close. Rashford and Mata take their chances and we're 2-0 up. Keep at it and we'll get the breakthrough.

My lord the hype for Peirrera was odd before the Reading game.Hopefully this match further illustrates his mediocrity, while underlining the hasty need to hype up our youth players.

It’s sadly starting to look like the lad just isn’t good enough. I think he will be sold in the summer.

Our lads need to settle down. Need to be clinical with our chances when we get them.

Ole better sub under performers and not worry about anyone's feelings today. It's a must that we get the 3 points.

Yeah don't agree at all. Mata is moving around so all the others look bad cause of it.. Nah.
Do you think the attacking threat down our right hand side is worrying the Burnley left back?
Don't you reckon that the lack of threat from the right wing allows the left back to focus more on helping his central defenders?

In games like this you start pondering, hmm.. do we need to buy an attacker who could make a difference? or "well, we scored 8 goals per game so far, so everything is fine with our attack".
We've always needed to buy an attacker, and probably need 2, considering our two best attackers are a 23 and 21 year old that are just now nailing down their spots in the 11 after the Mourinho shiite. A nailed on right sided player and another good rotational piece would help loads

Some good stuff being played at times, just need a bit of luck.

We will see if Ole has the tactical noise to make the necessary changes in the second half.

Here we go with the "If we don't win Ole ain't good enough" rhetoric. You do realise he won't get it right every time.....just like every single manager on earth.

    We'll do this second half.

Surprised to see Lukaku getting such abuse he's bern alright, better than Rashford so far.

Sanchez for Mata and we'd look better imo.
Yeah lukaku is trying like hell this match. People are just begging g for him to mess up to fuel there bs
