We will see if Ole has the tactical noise to make the necessary changes in the second half.

Some of the criticism here is well over the top.

Some people listing half the team as shite.

Not very good from our players. You can see Ole's gameplan - the usual tactic of drawing out the defenders wide with Rashford and Lukaku, while our midfield attacks the space. However, it cannot work if a midfielder like Pereira is afraid of taking chances either shot-wise or pass-wise, and if your CF/RW hybrid Lukaku has poor positioning every time you look for him either while pressing or attacking. Young has specifically been very poor, his decisions/crosses/pass-selection have all been off. Rashford has not been the clinical striker he was the last few games, if he'd put that away we would have scored a few more.

I don't Pereira will make it here. And I don't think Young can fill in at RB with the same effectiveness as he once did.

Burnley are the worst kind of team, can't stand them nor the 'football' they play. That being said, we need to do better and the players need to inject more speed into the play, really isn't that difficult.

Mata, Andreas and Lukaku are terrible players for this kind of game. I understand the need to rotate and with Martial's niggle it was forced on Ole but changes need to be made to disrupt Burnley.

Decent half. Done everything but score, having had a couple of quality chances, and a couple of others with the whistle going. Keep going and we should win this.

Pereira is obviously going to be fortunate to come out for the second half: poor pass decisions, erratic execution, and no idea when or whole to close down. We’ve had the sight of him chase a man down and end up running a circle five yards behind him. A real cowardly moment when he pulled out of a 50-50 too. Might well be one of his final games in a United shirt as he keeps disappointing and we are going to have every game matter as the season progresses. I’d rather have McTominay now, which is a worrying thought.

I hope we don't rue that Rashford miss. I've been reasonably pleased with our play but a bit more interplay in the middle wouldn't go amiss. Rom's shown he can play a mean through-ball and I don't see us capitalising from crosses into the box.

NBCSN comm saying Bardsley "stayed just within the laws of the game. He had hold of Rashford but let go in the knick of time."

Meaning he let go of him before the ref saw what was happening … that is not staying within the laws of the game. That's cheating.

Mata should grab that 1 year contract we're offering with both hands.

Ole is certainly learning about the squad

Lukaku, Young, Periera all questionable quality and you'd not expect players of that class to be starting in a year

    Mata and Matic just ok

an injury to Pogba/Rashford and we are fooked

We need runners in front of Mata. Removing Lingard is a miss. Herrera is a miss too since he's a runner, also. Pereira has made some nice passes but he doesn't get in front of the ball enough.

Pretty much as expected to be honest. Burnley are tough to break down and we've had our chances.

Expect us to take one of them at some point and it should be plain sailing from there.

Against a team that sits, we need pace pace pace to exploit any yard of space we can find. Lukaku is a lump and very slow over the first few yards and Mata is just slow in general so there's not much going on unless we create some intricate tiki-taka type goal.

Think we should revert to Spurs first half diamond, no point going wide because they are so condensed anyway. Sanchez on, Lukaku off. Mata to central AM. Everything on the ground and passing with some fizz.

We now need to see the game changer manager - Ole has to change this, they’re too lethargic and not focused.

Burnley are shit, get the pointless Perierierieriea and Mata off and we will smash them.

This should be the last game of Mata really. Promote Greenwood. Pereira also doesn't help much, although he tries not to lose the ball (which is certainly a positive).

Complete feckin shite from Shaw and Young.

I dunno, they have both looked threatening at times.

Young has put in some lovely crosses (a couple of shitty ones too) all to no avail and Shaw is combining well with Pogba down the left.

I think it's central midfield where we are lacking that bit bite. Herrera needs to be introduced before long.

    2 things stand out.

    1. We're not winning the ball back aggressively high up the pitch. We are missing Herrera.

    2. Our 75m lb elephant in the corner. We're effectively playing with 10 men. There is no movement at all in the middle so we're resorting to spraying it out to a right back who can't cross.

I would hook Pereira at half time and Lukaku at 60 mins and get Herrera and Lingard on.

In games like this you start pondering, hmm.. do we need to buy an attacker who could make a difference? or "well, we scored 8 goals per game so far, so everything is fine with our attack".

I said I was worried about this game
I said we shouldn't change the team
    And look what's fecking happening
Imo changes were needed to give some rest to the starters but Ole picked the wrong ones. I reckon Sanchez instead of Mata and Fred for Herrera would have been much better choices. Mata is pretty much done at this level in EPL, a bit disappointing our coaches can’t see that. Hope we improve in 2nd half and I hate Burnley.

We're not going to break them down with 2 statues as Mata and Lukaku. Simply both + presence of Periera instead of Herrera killed our high energy game.

Would be tempted to switch out Young for Dalot. Young is seeing a lot of the ball and wasting it every time.

Looking back at that Rashford miss, it's pretty unforgivable. If that was Lukaku missing the chance he'd be getting dog's abuse.

Rashfords finishing is frustrating but the only reason he was there in the first place was because Lukaku couldn't get the ball out of his feet to shoot himself.

Burnley fans are so much louder than ours
Really strange how the away fans can have their boos for a home player heard in a 75000 strong crowd. OT is definitely one of the quietest football grounds around.

Pereira is simply not good enough and he pussies out of too many challenges and duels as well. Get rid. Lukaku invisible and Rashford/Pogba really having off days it seems.

Also, moaning about rotating is pretty daft imo. We played away at Friday and have a new away game at Sunday. With the new style of play the lads needs a rest so rotating is perfectly sensible
