Terrible start with the mistake at the back and conceding, but okay after that. 1 shot on target so that needs improving. Zirkzee has been pretty good and probably our best attacking player with only Amad for competition

Failed to give a clear corner.
Failed to book a Brighton player who tackled Dalot from behind with a two footed lunge. Also failed to give that as a free kick.
May have missed a penalty earlier to the one he gave, after hesitantly blowing for that clear pen.
Failed to book Mitoma when he was holding onto Amad when he was running into the box.

Absolutely abject performance.

Been a scrappy game since we scored. We did really well after conceding and deserved to level it up though.

Ref was horrendous in the opening 20 minutes, and was beyond reluctant to give that pen even if it was blatant. Brighton should have like 3 yellows by now and could have gotten a red even. But whatever that side of things calmed down.

We need to take control of the game in the 2nd. Brighton doing a better job at keeping the ball and probing.

1-1 is about right for that half. We came back well after the early sucker punch but Brighton ended the half slightly stronger.

Need more from the wingbacks. Mazraoui doesn’t impress me there for another game running

How have we played so far? When I seen we went 1 nil down inside the first 5 mins, I had a sense of deja vu all over again whenever we play this lot but have equalised from the penalty spot through Bruno. Is it a fair scoreline or should we be winning or losing this game at the break?

After a few matches, I've come to a conclusion.

Mainoo is an issue in that no.8 role. I don't think he knows how to move the ball as part of a team and its impacting our build up severely. He's not showing for the ball, and when he gets it, he doesn't know what to do with it. This means that unless our centre backs play through the flanks or down towards Zirkzee, we don't have any connection in play through midfield.

I'd swap him and Bruno for the time being, then change him for Garnacho.

Not bad, not great. We have no runners in behind other than Dalot and at the same time we’re too deep. That means we end up with very little threat going forward.

If we’re going to be forced this deep, then we need more players who can run behind. One of Garnacho or Hojlund maybe.

Or we need to push up and keep possession better which we’re struggling with.
