From what I've caught so far Brighton don't look that great. We just need to keep going and pile that pressure on.

That's clearly touching the line. An overhead viewpoint would confirm that the ball would be covering some of the line due to its spherical shape.
That's not the right frame. Rashford's foot hasn't made contact yet. It's out.

Rashford is our most lethal attacking threat, but fecking hell a few more passes and composure wouldn’t go a miss.
He makes the wrong decision a lot. The amount of goals we would score if we had someone who was a bit more of a team player.

I genuinely think we might not make top 4 this season. We haven't played well throughout a single 45 minutes of football, let alone 90

    MEN…

    Onana

Well beaten for the goal. 6

    Dalot

Vindicated his switch to the right. 7

    Lindelof

    Uncomfortable half. 5

    Martinez

Still nowhere near his best. 6

    Reguilon

Started excellently but the goal came down his side. 6

    McTominay

    No discernible impact. 5

    Casemiro

Sprayed some fine passes but also slow to react at times. 6

    Fernandes

    Trying too hard. 5

    Eriksen

    Started well but faded. 6

    Rashford

United’s most threatening player but overdone it (literally) too often. 6

    Hojlund

Had a goal chalked off. 6

Rash had a 2 v 1 with Hojlund and McT in the box, has to look for the pass to one of them.

That is not the way he works , I thinks he has been our most dangerous player so far but he is never going to pass unless it is practically impossible for him to have a shot on goal.

He is incredible selfish which means he should get on the score sheet a lot which is good but going to be really frustrating for Hojlund etc knowing they will not get a pass off him unless he has no other option left.

We started well and looked up to it. Until the goal

We were the better team after the goal as well. We've created enough to be in the lead, just been wasteful, and they've literally scored their single chance that they created.

We got one year out of Casemiro and he needs to be replaced. How do we keep repeating this short termism over and over again?

THere should be no excuse of losing to this severely depleted Brighton at home.

I'd seriously start doubting EtH if we even draw on this.

Absolutely terrible first half. No patterns of play and just totally dependent on a moment of brilliance from Rashford.

ETH hasn't improved us one bit after spending 400m. We still just look like we aren't coached. Just a bunch of players thrown together at the last minute.
Pretty much this. Rashford is like the LW and CF combined, Hojlund is taking Bruno's false nine position, while Bruno sits deep and hits long balls to Rashy.

Rashford not doing the pressing is seriously pissing me of. There are usual ball progression problems, but that's practically every game because our midfielders are treating the ball like a hot potato, no ball retention(press resistance) whatsoever...

We've been good here, unfortunate to be down.
Not unfortunate, just shite defending. We have never been able to deal with those cutbacks. It's how City scored like 80% of their goals against us.

I'd have him over Park easily, unless its a big game and need someone marked out

Then my friend, you dont know how football is played. its not only about making 100 attempts on goal per match but also how to bring everyone into the game, how to play together as a team instead of individual. I'd take Park not only because he works 1000% harder than Rashford but because he would rather help his teammates who are in better position to score goals rather than trying to score from impossible angle himself.

There's definitely goals here for us when we actually get the ball we're dangerous. Little unfortunate to be behind

Brightons shape is a thing of beauty, they always have an easy pass option on. Everyone knows where everyone is. They could play the game blindfolded I reckon. Impressive

Scott McTominay made 7 passes in 45 minutes.

Might not spoil my Saturday watching us drown against another Top 6 team in the second half and do something more enjoyable.

Need Garnacho on for Eriksen or McTominay here. They're killing us out wide, so much space for them

He was the main reason that we won LC and why we are back in CL. So, imo, he justified investment.

He is poor this year though.
    So far.
Out or not, this and Garnacho the other week is just damn bad luck. Could have just as easily been a few millimeters the other way and both games look different.
It's the curse of the Glazers upon the club. I kid you not.

We have been the better team, unlucky to be behind. Our midfield is incredibly poor though, Casemiro looks to have aged poorly.
This. Even when Rashford and Hojlund press there is no pressure from the midfield, due to an immobile Casemiro, headless chicken Fernandes and ancient Eriksen, so Brighton have an easy pass out through the middle. I see everyone’s blaming that on Rashford again.

Rashford is our most lethal attacking threat, but fecking hell a few more passes and composure wouldn’t go a miss.
He is lethal but we’d score some goals if he looked for a pass. He gets in some great spots, even the disallowed goal should’ve been released earlier in the move.

When we pressed and pushed up.first 15 min we had Brighton pinned. But then last 30 min we have allowed them so much space and time to pass around. For any competent passing side, this is exactly what they need and they've taught us a passing/retaining possession lesson.

Not sure what ETH can do, our players simply lack the game intelligence to implement what he wants them to do. Can see Brighton easily winning out when inevitably they'll create one more chance and score.

    Far better team.

They score 1 from 1 decent chance.

Rashford needs to stop blasting the ball, fcuk me, he just needs to use a tiny bit of composure.

Maybe I'm a bit biased as the goal would have benefitted us but for these inconclusive cases I really wish they would give advantage to the attacking team. The number of times there are millimeters in it and they overrule the decision is irritating.

Weak mentally after Brighton scored, still beleve we should have bought a centre back before Mount and Onana and got Amrabat in earlier. Unfortunately Casemiro looks like a ghost.

This is hard to watch, Brighton doing whatever they want and its so easy for them. Christ
Na we’re playing well against them, this is how you counter Brighton. They pass around the back to bring teams onto them. If you don’t fall for it then you can get at them
