To be fair, you really have to take Martinez’s heading stats with some additional context:
1) How many aerial challenges does he actually go for? Did his partner usually challenge in the air and Martinez act as the covering defender? Did he only really challenge for headers he was sure he could win against shorter strikers, which could skew the stats?
2) The Dutch league may have taller players, but how much long balls and high crosses are played compared to England?
