Is there not a possibility we may be looking to bring one in? We've been linked to Militao & Koulibaily consistently. No smoke without fire and all that. I hope so anyway.
I don't remember being linked with either by any reputable source.

I suppose it goes back to all that bollocks they were spouting before the 1983 Cup Final with Jimmy Melia and his girlfriend gobbing off about us. Their captain, Steve Foster, saying how he was going to lift the trophy. It was a lack of respect. Foster got dog's abuse from the United fans in the replay.
    And Smith must score!
What drama in the drawn 83 final! Remember Ray Wilkins ( R.I.P) glorious goal? Happy days.

Ah 1983. My 1st memory of United lifting a trophy. Gary Bailey with that late save to force a replay (yep FA cup final replay youngsters).

Arnold Muhren and as@the brown bull say the late gent Ray Wilkins.

4-0 in the replay so I will go with that for today! Come in United

But that game was 6 days ago?

Rashford is probably the fittest player we have in the team and bang in form so has to start imo.

Right, and he'd just had an 8 day break leading up to it. Fatigue after the number of games he'd played and the intensity he has been playing is natural. If he was as knackered as he looked in the last 15 of that Tottenham game, then limiting him to a 25/30 min sub appearance today could be the best thing for managing his season and ensuring he finishes it strongly and doesn't pick up any muscle injuries.

For what it's worth, he will probably start but I hope we get him off in good time.

Am I the only one who wants United to absolutely smash these lot?

That Wilkins goal was a real beauty. I remember Brighton turned up at Wembley in a big feck-off helicopter they'd chartered for the occasion. Big Ron said afterwards that it flew over the United team coach and he mused about what they'd do for the rest of the afternoon if the chopper crashed. That annoying 'Seagulls' chant too.

But it will be. I see us scoring at least 3 in this game if the boys go into it with the same attitude they have had in the last 7 games.
Hope so, I don't imagine the players will be complacent as it was only a few months ago that Brighton were passing us off the pitch.
We are no world beaters yet.

Am I the only one who wants United to absolutely smash these lot?
I want us to win and win well but smash? Too strong a term for a club like Brighton.

Liverpool,City,Leeds,Arsenal and a few others are teams I'd love to grind into the earth though

Can we get a clip of this please?
    Maybe someone can upload it.

Basically he was asked if he aware how much of an influence Busby had on United when he first joined as a player. And Ole referenced that it would have been Busby's birthday on the '99 Bayern final. His daughter (and son I think he said) were at the stadium before the start of the game, and they both saw these doves fly by at the same time and referenced it to their dad watching United that night

    Tribute to a legend

    This

The fact that they can all play across the forward line is a huge advantage for us .it forces the opponent back and gives pogba and the full backs more freedom to bomb forward.

Our static forward line was a big reason for the overall lethargic play

Its basically what city, liverpool and (to a lesser extent) spurs do. Its modern football init. Lukaku doean't fit in for me.

We are going to batter these today.

    We'll win 7-0

    Pogba x 3
    Lingard x 2
    Lukaku x2

Couple of wonder saves from Dave.

Fred, Perreira and Dalot are going to play 30 mins plus each

    Thats my hope for today!

Fred's partner has just given birth. I wouldn't take his absence as a sign of his current profile at the club.
    Ah, cheers. Didn't realise.

If he's missing then it's probably McTominay on standby today. If we play the same 433 it'll be odd to see Pereira as the only CM on the bench though!

We cant take brighton for granted. Full strength team please, we need the points to catch spurs and chelsea. rotate the team when we are 3-0 up.

I think Big Rom is abit shit, however, in fairness to him, he hasn't been playing massively as of late, I'd give him at least 2-3 games with 60 mins+ to see how he gets on. Only fair when nearly everyone has improved in the system

These guys are right game raisers when it comes to us.

Hope we pulverise them into smithereens.

    Manchester United team
Starting XI: De Gea, Young (c), Lindelof, Jones, Shaw, Herrera, Matic, Pogba, Lingard, Rashford, Martial
Subs: Romero, Bailly, Dalot, Andreas, Mata, Alexis, Lukaku

    Brighton and Hove Albion team
Starting XI: Button, Montoya, Duffy, Dunk (c), Bong, Stephens, Propper, Gross, March, Murray, Locadia
Subs: Steele, Bruno, Balogun, Kayal, Knockaert, Andone, Gyokeres

Unchanged lineup from the victory against Spurs.
Feels so weird to have a settled side. Even towards the end of Fergies tenure we were unsure as to who would start each game.

Am I the only one who wants United to absolutely smash these lot?
Sure. If you were posting on a Liverpool forum.

Personally I want to see us smash every team... especially while every goal brings us closer to making the Ole-era official

I genuinely haven't enjoyed watching United this much in years, I really look forward to every game

10/11, thought Matic would be rested and Fred or Pereira would come in at RCM.

    Good team, let’s destroy these.

It’s a nice idea but we need all the points we can get from now until the end of the season. I don’t think we have the margin to experiment or play him back into form. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
