Shame Mata has gone off. He is on good form. Will completely change the dynamics of the game, he is pretty composed in the final third so we hang on to the ball a lot more in tight positions

The first thought of too many players is to pass it back. Young just now did that, didn't think about looking around first and see that he was under no pressure. Mata just before. McTominay does it quite a bit.

Too many times each game where I see Lingard, Lukaku, Mata, Sanchez raising their arms after not receiving the ball because the passer decided Smalling was the better option.

It's probably the single poorest aspect of this team, how poor players are at passing the ball from midfield. Makes it even more annoying how poor Pogba has been because he's the player that shouldn't be passing poorly.

Right now, the Brighton players are dominating in midfield and keeping the ball in our own half.
For whatever reason, they just seem more motivated to fight for every first and second ball.

So, for people who blame Jose, do you think Jose tells our players to not put in effort and invite pressure on ourselves?

Brighton really going for it. Watch how they bring numbers forward whenever they get the ball in a good position. They don't really have the individual quality to make it count, but they look pretty cohesive both in defence and attack.

Think we'll ride out the 1-0.
