Will be a serious face-off, Brentford is up for it. I hope we are .

A signature Brentford opening minute goal could free us up to be more free flowing and attacking

The following players, apparently, could be out for the weekend:

Maz, Maguire, Mainoo, Amad, Garnacho, Urgate.

Excuses lined up for Ten Hag then. Maguire wasn't available so we weren't physically able to match them.

Remember lads, remaining competitive with all our injuries, conceding only 14 shots and losing to a lucky cut-back goal in the 87th minute will be seen as progress under this gormless dickhead.

Never realised we'd done so many swap deals with Brentford.

Sadly for you Brentford's players will probably be well rested and have had plenty of training together in the last couple of weeks.
They're rapid and strong going forward on the break so you'll need to pass them to death and convert your opportunities to beat them.

Yeah and they are rapid starters these past few games so will need to be at it from kick off

Lose this one and we could be in 15th place after the weekend.

The way they are going we won't finish in the top 10 at the end of the season & that's a disaster & embarrassing for a club as big as Manchester United & the amount of money they've spent on players as well.

    Injuries & Suspensions

    United:

    Noussair Mazraoui Heart problems

    Sounds alarming.

My thinking is he will go three across the back, and push Dalot into a five man midfield.
Mount may be available as his problem was concussion and he's had the statutory rest time now.
Garnacho and Diallo doubtful could see Antony get a start.
I'm thinking he will play 3-5-2

Edit the team now Martinez will start I’d imagine

Nous (surprisingly), Garnacho, and Amad all trained today.

Ugarte had a recovery session so might not be ready. Mainoo and Maguire out for a few weeks. Mount and Shaw still injured.

I think we’re crying out for 3 at the back but Ten Hag won’t do it.

Purely on prima facie it seems weird to say that a team with 5 goals in 7 games is "crying out" for one defender more and one attacker fewer.

I think we’re crying out for 3 at the back but Ten Hag won’t do it.
He could play Lindelhof at left Back, and move Dalot back to the right, I still think he will pack the midfield, simply because he cannot afford to lose games, and packing the midfield is one way of protecting his defence

No Mainoo and No Ugarte. I’d like to see Casemiro 6, Bruno 8 and Zirkzee 10 with Rasmus up top, but you know it’ll be Case and Eriksen. Our lineups are boringly predictable.
Drop Eriksen, our most in form player in the team and have no striker off the bench? Yeah I hope not.

    Onana
    Dalot De Ligt Evans Martinez
    Casemiro Eriksen
    Garnacho Bruno Rashford
    Zirkzee

Probably something like this, but if we're honest with ourselves the players selected don't really matter much, the performance will be the same either way. Hope it's a fun 50/50 end to end game at the very least rather than the painfully dull version of United (or the one where we just get dominated)

We don’t need a striker on the bench just for one of Erik’s uninspired like for like subs. We need goals on the pitch. Also how many G&A’s has Eriksen got? What we have tried isn’t working so rotation isn’t a bad idea…

3 and 3. More than anyone but Rashford in the former, and second to none in the latter.

Expected Mount back as was a minor head thing

I'm really not interested in hearing any more excuses or bogus praise about our progress or how unlucky we were to lose another game to a midtable club. If we were supporters of Leicester City or Everton we would take whatever scraps we could get and hope for progress, but we've been dealing with this shit for a decade now and it's time the manager and the players man up and start winning games on a consistent basis. If that's too much of ask, then out with the manager now and down the road, out with the players.

Have we ever looked free flowing and attacking under this manager?
First half against Crystal Palace is some of the best football we played this season IMO but that may also be because Palace is doggy doo-doo right now.
