That’s the worst part about the whole thing. The profiles we’ve managed to accumulate are so horribly matched. They’re all [generally] decent to good level players on an individual basis, but they just do not gel well at all.
Middling pace centre backs, lack of press-resistance midfielders, kamikaze no.10 (with his alternative being the complete opposite off ball merchant who doesn’t want the ball to feet), strikers without genuine poaching instincts etc…
It’s like we go out of our way to find players who won’t match what we need or won’t work in tandem with what we have- Status
