    They may well do, but it's a competitive game in one of the main competitions that makes up part of our season and no more likely than they''d get injured in a league, CL/EL, FA Cup game - and we lose enough with injuries in training! So that's just something you have to accept may happen in any match (or training session) during the season.

    I would rest Dalot and Bruno if it weren't for all the injuries. We could play Amad as a no.10, but I want to give him rest too.

    I've said 5-0 to us on the "score predictions" so many times... sooner or later I'm going to be correct. If we can win 3-2 away with the U21 we should be able to do a 5-0 at home with the fringe players.
     
    My guess is ETH will go pretty much full strength - he'll feel this is a competition he can win

    If we whitewash them 8-0 it’ll be boring and lack competition. But if we only beat them by a goal or two then we’re shite because it’s only Barnsley

    It is what it is . Liverpool playing Milan while we play the mighty Barnsley. Depressing really :o
     
    I'm finally confident and looking forward to this game.

    Roll on the 8th minute, when we are under severe pressure for a few minutes.
     
    Rashford/Zirkzee could use goals. Give Antony a game.

    A good opportunity to bring Cas back in and play Collyer and Ugarte

    Evans, Maguire, Lindelof and Amass could play. Not sure if we have a right back who could step up?

    in saying all that I expect Ten Hag to pick a team we might expect vrs Palace
     
    We should absolutely be rotating for this. It's a long season, with hopefully a lot of games, we need to protect our players as much as we can.

    Dalot, Fernandez and Zirkzee should get 60-70 minutes max. I'd like to see Biancheri rewarded with a spot on the bench, maybe get him some minutes if we are leading

    Our u21s beat them last month, I'm sure we can rest a few players.
     
    Hope we don’t stand down the whole team and just play the rest. If we do, then be prepared for the possibility of defeat.

    Personally I’d start strong, replace as the game goes on
     
    For anyone thinking this'll be a walkover given Barnsley's position in the league, just think back to Coventry. Had they been awarded that last minute goal we'd have been out of the FA Cup and no doubt ETH would be managing another side right now.

    We don't have a record of putting away lesser teams with ease.

    we just beat Sotton 3-0, relax we're winning this comfortably.
     
    Hope he doesn’t go full strength here. I’ve seen a lot of the first teamers turning up in the tunnel.
     
    Feels weird having this game on the same night as the champions league.

    While I agree with your general point, Coventry is a mid-table Championship team, Barnsley is mid-table in League 1 so there is an entire league between them. plus the Coventry game was a semi-final at Wembley with 40 thousand fans cheering them on in the biggest game for the club in recent memory. while this is an early EFL tie at OT. the 2 situations are quite different.
