Barcelona will have watched that Liverpool match tonight and will think if a Real Madrid team they are 8 points ahead off in the La Liga can do that in Anfield then they can at least win in Old Trafford.

Time for United to show on Thursday night that they are a lot better than Liverpool..

Well Madrid did their part of the deal , it's our turn i suppose.

Haven't been hyped this much for a match since our return leg against Madrid itself, can't wait!

Cant wait for next Sunday either! Time for another humbling for them.

No Busquets, Gavi or Pedri. So what’s it gonna be in midfield? Kessie, Frenkie and S. Roberto?

We need to cook these fools

Edit: Busquets is there, he is #5.

Hope we over run them there, a game where Fred should probably start.

TH has a dilemma on his hands

We need to win that Trophy on Sunday. The feeling of winning a trophy will be priceless to this team

From at Old Trafford this season.

We didn't lose at home since 8th September and that was the dodgy penalty against Sociedad that put us in this position in the first place (odd night with the Queen's passing too where the game and crowd was so flat). We didn't fail to score at home since Newcastle on 16th October. Since then it's been sensational at home with the only blip against Leeds where we were so sloppy early in both halves.

Everyone should be really confident of beating any team that comes to Old Trafford, particularly now that we are getting to the point of having most our squad back fit (and not suspended)!

I feel pretty confident with a backline of Dalot/AWB, Varane, Martinez and Shaw behind Casemiro and Sabitzer. It will be the most solid we have been since Casemiro got suspended. We really should win this.

    Rio at Carrington.
Fletcher too, God knows what does he do there, I bet he got another promotion, 3rd in 6 months.

I feel the most confident I ever have going into a match against Barcelona.

But don't rule them out, if they get chances like Leicester got, they'll take them and then it'll be very difficult to get back into the game. I think the first goal is very important

No doubt we depended on DDG magic and a bit of luck in that first half against Leicester, but I'm expecting Casemiro will make a big difference here. And with Barca missing Gavi and Pedri, they are lacking a lot of their danger from midfield.

I think we might go for:

    DDG
    AWB - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro - Sabitzer
    Bruno - Weghorst - Sancho
    Rashford

If Antony is available, it might be him on the right and Bruno centrally with Weghorst making way. I could see us winning 2-0.

We didn't have Case against Lei. And Lei has lot of pace, Barca has basically no pace. Of course you can't be 100 % sure but imo there's nothing much to worry about them. Tbh watching them I have no idea how could they got on top of Liga.

My only worry is they might buy the ref again. But with the ongoing scandal imo no ref would be stupid enough to take the bribe.

He was ref in the EL final. He’s another of these refs who likes to put on a performance and make the game about him like Dean and Lahoz. Dishes out cards like it Christmas.
Thanks. As long as he could stay neutral there should be no issue imo.

Why Sabitzer though? I thought Fred was subbed off around 60th minute so he can rest for this game?

I think Sabitzer has proven himself to be a really solid option. He's secure with the ball, works hard and plays some good passes going forward.

Fred is more of a wildcard. I like him, but you don't know what you get - he could play a blinder, or he could gift Barca a goal. It wouldn't be a disaster if he starts, but I would go with Sabitzer for sure.

Oh I see, you picked Sabitzer as your choice - I thought it was leaked Sabitzer would start so found it weird as Fred was subbed off early on Sunday.

I do agree with you and am excited to see Sabitzer with Casemiro for the 1st time.

Sabitzer hasn't played much football this season so not weird at all

What the feck, I was in the assumption that we were playing tonight. I didn't understand why a member was complaining about two days rest till the Newcastle game.

Not his biggest fan, far from it, but I wish him luck.

He's been a 1st team coach since January 2021. Seems like a crucial staff member, speaking to the players on loan after every single match etc. Out of curiosity, what has he done that makes you dislike him?

Fist bit was me paraphrasing a poster who was obsessed with Fletcher (and probably still is) and his promotions, the 2nd bit was an internal cafe joke.
