No Ronaldo in a game we would like to win, coincidence or on purpose?
It’s interesting that’s for sure. Plays in all the games we don’t want to win all season and then the first we actually want to win comes along he’s out.

I'm not sure what I don't want to see more:

Greenwood on the right when he should be one of the two forwards.

    Or

Rashford on the right when he should be on the bench.

    No jones at all.

This 4222 formation that sees the likes of rashford playing some weird attacking midfielder/wing role and seeing a double pivot of fred and mctominay AT HOME just like we had to endure under ole, completely kills my mood to watch the match.
Who exactly do you think should be playing centre midfield AT HOME?

You could line that up a bunch of ways. But a midfield 3 of Bruno, Fred and McTominay is theoretically our highest energy, best pressing option. With Cavani leading the line and Rashford and Greenwood cutting in from wide areas.

But this could easily be a 4-2-2-2 too, which I remain unimpressed by.

    I'm getting the word "bench"

Do you have any lottery numbers?

We win today, press is all over us, RR picks same team again next week, we win again, press is all over us again, redcafe implodes with CR out threads...

No Ronaldo? We might actually have a chance at pressing and winning today guys. Rashford and Greenwood might also score. Nature is healing.

I like that team. If Cavani plays as he has though, then he needs dropping for Sancho asap.

So people got there wish. The so-called problem (Ronaldo) not even in the squad.

i hope the people who didn't want Ronaldo to play are happy with themselves.

Fairly easy 11 to guess once we knew who was at the hotel, given Shaw is suspended midweek and AWB really isn’t offering much over Dalot.

Well, let’s see how we look Ronaldo-less. Hope we win.

Only third match in six seasons at Old Trafford I’ll be watching from home whilst fans are in the stadium. COVID for me.

I know people like Greenwood at centre forward but in todays game do we not want him to play more like Salah? He has all the attributes for it and it doesn’t stop him getting 30 goals a season down the line?

I know we don’t play 4-3-3 currently but if Ten-Hag or whoever comes in I still see him playing wide right.

Don't like the lineup but let's see how the game will play out. Really hoping it's not 4 triple 2 though

Right, no Ronaldo, which means we might see a more proactive press tonight if Rashford can be bothered instead!
Still don’t see why people say this, with or without Ronaldo we have never pressed properly.

If they do it tonight it’ll be because Rangnick has read them the riot act.

I am so confused about this game tonight. It’s like reverse psychology. We have been so poor this season it feels like villa are almost favourites tonight which is sobering. Yet I still feel like we should absolute be beating villa at home in the 3rd round of the fa cup. Such a confusing situating and impossible to predict the outcome. We may actually play better in a one off cup tie.

Ronaldo hasn't been right since that long run he did in near or in extra time a while back. I forget which game. He over did it when it wasn't necessary at the end of a game we were winning if I recall.

Years without a trophy, players dialling it in, bankers running the club, leaks from inside the dressing room and no real signs of cohesion or direction.

Yet the thing that pisses me off most about United is still that braindead fecking way we insist on releasing the teamsheet every week.
