    Half-time
Awful half overall but the goal was good and last few minutes weren't half bad.

Horrible commentary - no mention of how we ended the half well on top

A good start and end to the half. Middle part was poor I thought.

Much better than recent showings overall.

The pressure, width and passing forward has been so much better.

If you can't see that you either aren't watching the match or you're simply blind.

McTominay has by far the most consistent shooting technique in the team. It’s superb.

Best in the squad outside of Pogba at switching the play as well, just the shorter stuff and tidiness of touch lets him down.

A half that feels much better for having been 1-0 throughout. Otherwise it was quite sloppy going forward and at the back.

Oh well, hopefully we get Second Half FC at the Stretford End.

We could've conceded two, but also could've scored at lesat 3 more. Villa deserve some credit for their defending today.

If Rashford squares that to Greenwood one touch earlier it’s an easy tap in. Brain dead.

Dare I say we look much better without Ron ron?

    Really good game.

We do of course look exceptionally shaky at times.

But at least we're seeing some sharp passing and willingness up front.

Great game for the neutral. Chances galore. So difficult when we've SO many players trying to play themselves into form. I'm praying for Marcus to bang one in. You can feel the tension when he gets on it.

The last 5 to 7 mins of the half have been very good, should have had another goal. Stop the errors and we get through this. These commentators are either not watching this or Bias, ffs Cavani save , Mctom save , Shaw save, Rashford save, I did see them did I. !!!

Feck me, don't know who's worse out of Sancho or Rashford. Greenwood is far superior to both of these frauds.

Dalot, Lindelof, Greenwood and Cavani were all relatively poor this first half, it needs to be said. Others were Ok or better

Playing much better without Ronaldo, we could actually use our pace on the counter.

Does anywhere have the correct match stats? Just looked at the BBC and this site and they are well off.

Should be game over. Rashford too scared to to make a mistake

Winning the ball back quickly and breaking quickly in spurts, that's more of what RR wants his teams to play like, we need to sure up a lot of the play and do more of that

Look a lot more balanced with the ball with this personnel and formation, but we're still pretty easy to play through and the set piece defending is still piss poor.

But I'm starting to rate Dalot which I did not think possible. Cavani is quite simply the only player we have who can play as a lone striker. He's worked his arse off.
