Great first half. We were the better team and should have scored another goal.Welbeck wasn't such a diving cnut when he was with us, was he?
Tonight's been one of the most obvious examples that he's being primarily used as a long ball outlet, and that his technical ability with a football is worryingly poor sometimes.Most enjoyable half of football I've watched in a long time.
Good football from both sides. Much better tempo from United.Terrible link-up between Shaw/Young and Valencia/Di Maria.Our team has pressed Arsenal very poorly. We've made it easier for them by pressing their players and creating spaces for them. We should try to keep ourselves organised more than press the Arsenal players. Pressing Arsenal will only make it easier for them to open us up.Good half. Valencia's positioning and decision-making (which ball to compete for) is atrocious.
Scares me to death that after this beautiful performance, Arsenal could still take the WGood stuff.
Young and Blind a bit disappointing for me, and Di Maria...what to say? I was still cursing him when he crossed that beauty to Rooney's head.Good half. They're dangerous on the break but we've been the much better team IMO. Di Maria playing well, Rooney class, the only thing is Blind has been a bit useless today. Not closing down well enough defensively.
Defensively on the goal was really poor though, Smalling and Valencia were all over the place. Other then that Valencia has been a bit of a beast.

Defensively all over the place but it's one of those games where tactics go out of the window to an extent.
Rooney has been excellent. Valencia and Shaw have been very poor, which is unlike them defensively.Valencia is our best player in this half. Chasing all lost balls on the wing and in midfield. He could be a very good box-to-box CMGood intent from both sides, plenty of sloppiness. Bring on the second half
This is the first time I've enjoyed one of our matches in a long time. We haven't been great, but at least we seem to be attacking with some intent.Valencia at RB is gonna be the death of us. Running around like a headless chicken and with di Maria on the right we're way too exposed.I think carrick will be on because herrara is going to be tempted because arsenal is flooding the midfield so we can't go down to ten men.. Other then that we saw the old United in flashes in the first halfBoth teams are eager to give the other lots of space to create.

A game where we look far to open and about to be countered at every opportunity.
Blind has been slow.This will be decided on Di Maria's side of the pitch. For good or for ill.We really should win this. Arsenal really look like a side missing four or five of their first team.Blind is so easy to get passed, We need Carrick to come on for Fellaini who has no ground game whatsoeverStrangely really enjoyed that half, we definitely play better with more urgency and tempo. Still lacking any real great threat through the middle but the crosses have worked well.

Apart from the dodgy defenceGood game, but a bit ropey at the back. Rooney Fellaini and Valencia playing well. Much better from ADM, but he's got to help out Valencia more.Really enjoyable game, we've played some good stuff.
AOC has torn Shaw to bits this half, he needs some help, we also look vulnerable down our right as Di Maria does not track back in the same way that Sanchez does.
I think my main worry is if Arsene brings on Giroud for Welbeck. He's twice the finisher he is and will cause our defence problems.
Because our rightback has been given permission to also play centre mid. Also ADM looks gassed.Some good attacking play in the first half, Rooney and Fellaini causing Arsenal problems and Di Maria getting a big of confidence back with his delivery even if his running with the ball hasn't been great.
The way Smalling and Tony V both got sucked across the box for the Arsenal goal was annoying.
Yeah, and that's Fellaini's fault.
A forward/winger in a wide position has two decisions, shoot or cut the ball back. He already knows where the goals so checking where your striker makes his run a prudent thing to do.Good game, could go either way.
Far too open from United though. Blind ( in his drunken state) and Herrera can't close the game down. Need Carrick too. Take off Fellaini ( although he's done well) to do it.
