We're desperately going to need a win over Arsenal in mid May I (second to last league game, I think) and since I don't see us beating them three times straight this season I won't be distraught if we lose this one tonight, so long as we put in a decent performance.

now more than ever, beating them 3 times this season is exactly what we need to do!!!..... losing tonight could easily have a dreadful knock on effect to the league. We need to finish this year strongly. Starting with beating Arsenal tonight!

I've never been so nervous before a FA cup game ever before. The down period after SAF has really made me appreciate stuff like the FA cup and even the league, which I took too much for granted that we'd win under Fergie.

A win against Arsenal gives us momentum and confidence, it's only one game but it's a big game, a good performance could help things click just in time for the big matches.

We need to enter battle mode, Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, (break - Villa), City, Chelsea.

The momentum and confidence from each game will go into the next.

They should just bend over for the greater good.
Hope Piers does take himself to the electric chair. He is the most odious man ever - wouldn't want him supporting United.

See stupid Chris Wheeler of Daily Fail banging on about boring United again- Christ they hate us. Could have sworn Liverpool were bloody boring yesterday but nobody says anything about that in the press!
    Come on United!

I don't think a win here tonight will rule out a win at OT in May :p

Probably the opposite as they will feel like we've put a hex on them!

Stating the obvious but it really is vital we win this, our record in the FA Cup has been awful for too long now and we have a great chance of winning it if we can see off Arsenal. A loss tonight could affect the team very badly and we would lose a lot of belief that we can get top four. Safe to say it's going to be a nervy 90 minutes, really hope van Gaal gets the team right. I'd like to see Falcao start with Rooney playing slightly behind but no idea if van Gaal will trust Falcao or not considering his poor form.

Keane is going to be on MOTD with Baldy and Wright. This could be interesting.

Feel sick about this, think we're gonna feck it up, really hope I'm wrong.

    Im very calm (so far)
Think we will win this one 3-1.
Hope we turn up and score in the 1st half for once.

This lovely little section even updates the kickoff for your time zone, how nice. This daylight savings time change about did my head in this morning...

Be very interesting to see how Arsenal approach this - if they go for their usual all-out punching, attacking style then I'd be confident that the game would end the way it does almost every single time they approach a top away game like that for Arsenal.

But if they approach the game like they did away to City, then that's an entirely different matter.

Hope Martin Keown isn't on commentary after last time. Although it would be fecking enjoyable listen to him if we win.

I imagine it'll be the most undeserving victory in the competition so far, even if we play really well.

If the game is settled by an own goal against the run of play, or a penalty from a dive, Keown might just burst into flames.

Not for me. This is a game that will certainly require us to play a bit deeper and catch Arsenal on the break. Not sure I could bear to watch Falcao running in treacle trying to spearhead a United breakaway. That job has to be reserved for Rooney, surely?

That performance was blown way out of proportion. City were terrible and without Toure.

anyone know if this is being shown on french or german terrestrial style tv? am in foreign land and don't have bbc one, just access to basic french and german channels by the quick 2 min look i had through the channel listing before going out and ideally would like to watch it later in the comfort of my wi-fi less room, rather than watch it in a hotel lobby on my laptop with headphones in like some kind of public self abuser. i could try google and test my french skills but it's easier if someone tells me.

    Any team leaks?
Just that Fellaini is starting behind Rooney. My guess is one of two things...
    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Di Maria Carrick Blind Young
    Fellaini
    Rooney
    OR
    De gea
    Valencia Smalling Rojo Blind
    Di Maria Carrick Herrera Young
    Fellaini
    Rooney

10 minutes away from lineups.... Havent been so pumped up for a game in a while. Not since the Madrid games in Fergies last season.

Teams to be announced at 6.45. Think most people can pretty much guess what to expect with Fellaini starting behind Rooney up top. Be interesting to see if Blind or Shaw plays LB and if Carrick moves back into CM.

Says it's on EuroSport in Germany but don't know if you'll have access to that.

Seems to be a great buzz around OT from both sets of fans. Here's to hoping the line up is right.
