We didn't struggle against Chelsea seeing as we battered them 4-0. A combination of missed chances and penalties cost us 5 points against Wolves and Palace - we did more than enough to win both of those games comfortably. We were top of the xG table after those three games too.

Then injuries began to pile up and performances inevitably deteriorated.
It's always the injuries fault. Imagine expecting to go a full season with only one forward.

Were you at the Chelsea game? No matter how pleasing the final score was ,we certainly didn't batter them on the pitch that day.

No, I wasn't at the game, but I watched it in full.

Chelsea started brightly, dominating the first 20 minutes or so before our players gradually wore into the game and took control. We dominated the second half.

I can't beleive more people think we'll lose than win. Its almost as if people have forgotten what Arsenal look like when they come to OT, regardless of our injury situation.

De Gea; Smalling, Jones, Evans, Evra; Nani, Anderson, Cleverley, Young; Rooney, Welbeck was the 11 which put 8 past them.
Who was our manager at the time?

My side for tonight would be:

    DDG
AWB Tuanzebe Maguire Shaw (if fit, if not Young)
McTominay Pogba (if fit, if not Fred)
    Lingard (lesser evil) Gomes James
    Greenwood

But I would imagine Lindelof, Matic, Mata will all start, should be thrilling

Could have went either way in the first half and thankfully we took our chances whilst they didn't.
Lucky we did or we would be 18th

We have no-one close to the talent of Rooney, Evra and Nani at that time.

But for the last 7 years we have been garbage, and our current squad is the worst United team for a generation. I have 2-0 to Arsenal. Hope I'm wrong though.

I was surprised people were so negative at first.
But that was before basically all of our best attackers were injured. And make zero mistake, we need our first choice lineup to have a chance this season.

A draw will be a good outcome tonight.

Has the squad for tonight been published? Gomes still injured ?

Why should Solskjear be allowed the injuries excuse when on the day rashford debuted for us United under van gaal beat a better arsenal side than the current one 3-2 with a load of injuries.

This was his starting 11 that day -

    -------------------de gea
    Varela-- Carrick-- blind--rojo
    --------------schneiderlin
    Lingard--herrera--mata--depay
    -------------------rashford

Is that team better than the one what we could possibly put out tonight IF done right even though we know Solskjear will play it safe?

My god we have been through rough times recently. What a horrible team that is.

At least that team had Herrera & a younger Mata. At least a bit of creativity

Rashford and Pogba both in squad

    No sign of Wan-Bissaka apparently.

FFS, win this 1-0 vs friggin' Emery and sleep tonight 6th with 11 points, three short of Leicester (WH doesn't even count), up there with the Spurs, but above Chelsea and Arse (goal difference).

Not winning this today would confirm that the current lack of urgency of this club is unbearable. 3 points today at OT or death. It is that simple. No excuses.

You are deluding yourself if you think it is injuries that are responsible for our problems

Oh learn how to fecking read English. Where did I say injuries are responsible for our problems?

Injuries will however play a major factor in the outcome of tonight's game though

    Second para is Spot on.

Just lumped on Greenwood to score, but of course Rashford will now take his place.

Buzzing for this though, my first game I am going to this season.

    Come on lads!

Not bothered about Rashford to be honest , would love to see Greenwood up top.

We'll be extremely mediocre but we'll dig in.

Arsenal with much more quality will be erratic and tactically naive.

I think it'll end 1-1. Maybe with them scoring first but then being daft enough to gift us something, or they still throw too many men forward and we get them on the counter.
This is pretty much what I expect, too. Then half the fans will hail our character, the other half will bemoan the lack of quality and that's about it.

(Of course it's entirely possible that they'll just spank us silly but that rarely happens at Old Trafford.)

Haha guaranteed mate, we are crying out for a number 10 and a link between midfield and attack, creativity and another goal threat, god forbid Gomes gets a crack, stick with Pereira/Lingard/Mata haha
Gomes not even in the squad.

Jesus. If Ole had won that match 3-2 with that team, the people here would have demanded a contract extension for Ole.

Arsenal to get a clean sheet with their midfield and defence? They had conceded something like 96 shots on goal by half way through this month.

Curious how it plays out, could be a low scoring cagey affair with both teams adopting a cautious approach.

    He is injured isn’t he?

I thought it was just minor that kept him out of Rochdale, obviously not haha

Feel seriously sorry for Greenwood tonight, poor lad has McTominay/Matic/Lingard/Mata providing his chances tonight ha

It's going to be a thrashing, just need to find out who thrashes whom.

If we dont win this I'm fine with OGS out tomorrow and restart the rebuild next year. If Lingard starts and isnt hooked by half time, OGS can also leave

We've had Arsenals number for a bit and its at OT as well. Their teams mentalitys awful and if we cant even capitalise on that we're a joke

Does Greenwood play? Rashford in squad.
