Great to see Rojo and Bailly back. Hope they both stick it to Mourinho. By that lineup, it doesn't look as if there will be any attacking intent on our part.

Pogba benched in a game like this. Feck off Jose. All the virus claims was true then. What are we waiting as supposed to be a a big club for him to get the sack? Lots and lots of issues between players a d managers now. Something need to change.

Erm...you must not know a lot about Conte. He's talking about the opposite of the point you made. Conte is very strict in the tactical shape of the team when defending, whereas Mourinho expects you to adapt your positioning to the situation.

The players that played for him at Juventus said the same thing. He goes mental when you are out of position. It has nothing to do with 'coaching attacking play' because no top coach tries to micro-manage attackers.

I can guarantee you that Pep Guardiola tells his wide attacker to stay high and wide off the ball, and when they get on the ball they can do their own thing. Not only is it obvious watching them, but its confirmed by former players that they arent told what to do in the final third.

If you look at City then United and see two teams that are as well drilled as one another in attack, then cool, we see things differently.

We should loan Fred to Everton or Spurs. Gets to know the league and get up and running in functional progressive teams. He will also not rot on our bench, decline in value, and collect wages for doing feck all. Both can use an extra midfielder.

    Yes, I'm dead serious.

That's a line-up from United alright. That's eleven players right there.

    Hoy. :annoyed:

Yea Pogba deserves to be dropped due his performance in prev. game, good to see Matic being dropped too due 1/10 in last 30 games, oh wait

Can't let Pogba run the show.

If he had another game like that then sure but it was a stinker of a game and he's a quality player. You have to back your star player as a manager else you're just as good as an AI bot who picks players based on ratings.

You just know he will come out after the game and imply that his hands were tied that he had line up like that to cover for the shit team he has to work with. Something like "you know how Bailly and Darmian are ... so I had to give them some cover"
And Matic will escape criticism again

Just three Mourinho signings start today
    • Bailly, Dalot and Matic start
    • Pogba and Lukaku are on the bench
    • Fred is left out of the squad with Fellaini and McTominay preferred as bench options
    • Sanchez and Lindelof are injured
    • Mkhitaryan is on the bench... for the opposition
    • Zlatan is in LA

    Money well spent.
JMs team selection understandable except for Darmian and Matic.

Give Matic a break. Not enough that he played with injections during the spring and the WC, he was also rushed back after the operation. Given his age and bodytype it is not difficult to understand why he is underperforming.

I have a feeling there's an issue with players represented by Riola.

Lukaku finally scores, and then gets dropped again
Lets not re-write history, Lukaku was awful on Saturday.

If Lukaku was playing instead of Martial or Rashford, you'd all be complaining.

I'm a little confused about the midfield... and why drop Pogba? I can't stand the pettiness.

No one is being mocked for that, people are being mocked for wanting their own favorite team to lose.

The two go hand in hand. Some will argue they are true fans cos they never want to see us lose. The others will say they are the true fans because they see us losing to get closer to the eventual positive result ie new manager. I’m the latter. As is my old man. Who to put into context has been a fan since the 70s worked at old Trafford for 30 years and has a bottle of wine he got off Fergie when he retired that he refuses to open...ever! He absolutely is as real a fan as anyone.

Fair enough dropping Pogba and least he has been consistent in dropping Fellaini who was equally as bad on Saturday.

The starting eleven always seems bit random now and injuries played part tonight. Arsenal will be gutted if they can’t beat that team though.

I only can't understand how we spend M50 on Fred and he's not even a reserve.

Regarding Pogba - he really is a totally disgusting virus after his last despicable showing.

Exactly but according to @Virgil your pops ain't a true fan! This is a an infected wound we need to get rid off

I’m past caring. No matter what we do, they’re going to play like shit. Just think it’s rather funny that he stops the drought and is benched again.

Yet another different line up . How random have the selections been this season?

The last time we played Arsenal with such a weak looking team, Rashford emerged and we won 3-2!

I'm worried though. Unless there's a surprise position for one of those 5 defenders it looks insanely defensive.

All 3 of the central defenders are either just over an injury, or will be rusty.

It could be an awful watch

    Fred fled?

The Moyesinho hopper is not being kind to him, better luck in the next draw son.

That Rashford is gone. He was a killer in the box. Now he can't even do a one on one
