Need to stay compact. Make the right passes… there’s opportunity’s for counters

Onana, Varane, Evans, and Dalot have been solid. We've ridden our luck a bit but get another goal and City will go into meltdown.

That goal is something else. That's just outstanding. A real world class goal, especially at this level.

Could be 2 up to be fair. If Rashford hits that halve volley clean it goes in.
Not just the volley, also the chance when he was through on goal but missed controlled it.

Very good half. Defended well. Played some good stuff also at time. In terms of (proper) goal opportunities we’ve had probably a few more than City. Should be ahead 3-1.

Onana has been very good. A solid display. Assured and confident, also created the goal.

It feels like once he scored its job done. Two big chances missed. Garnacho has been awful though, doesn't look like he belongs out there. Must be subbed. Agree with the rest. Shout out to Evans too.

Normally I'd be fine subbing, but I simply don't think you can take either off because we don't have a threat in behind to sub them with. Antony is slow as feck and just invites pressure. Amad isn't a running threat either.

I don't think City's wingers have had an easier game against any other full backs all season. The amount of time Doku and Foden just walked by Lindelof and Dalot was astounding. Yet we're still ahead. Weird game.

I'd be amazed if we don't concede.

Haaland made eye contact with Keano in the studio just as he was about to tap that in

Looks like the goal was a fluke, he's been ridiculously poor since. City are definitely scoring a couple here, but bloody impressed we've even had a shot looking at the class difference between these sides!

Garnacho had a poor first half. Biggest weakness that stands out for me is his lack of physicality. Hopefully that's something he improves in

Commentator says the game doesn't make much sense. Has he never seen a game with a defensive team winning at half time?
Almost like he's forgotten about alot of the 2000's with Mourinho's famously pragmatic approach

Nerve wrecking stuff. If Rashford was in form he could've had a hattrick today, the plan is clearly working. How I wish we had Hojlund just to give City something else to think about.

Defensively we've been as solid as we could be. Onana has been brilliant. Everyone else has done their jobs. Someone who hasn't done his job is Haaland, a shocking miss. Even if City equalize, we can't let our our heads go down. There will be chances for us in this game. Subs will be key, at some point fresh legs will be needed. It will be on EtH to get the timing right.

Rashford has been abysmal apart from the worldie. Garnacho too. Bruno actually... has been good which is very surprising. Playing clever without totally going into donkey mode. Mainoo excellent off the ball. Dalot been great. Onana MOTM

We are certainly conceding though. You can't hold out for another 45 minutes of box camping

Bruno has been excellent. It’s nice to to be frustrated with him.

Normally I'd be fine subbing, but I simply don't think you can take either off because we don't have a threat in behind to sub them with. Antony is slow as feck and just invites pressure. Amad isn't a running threat either.

I think Antony will provide more. He can use his cuntiness to get fouls and burn some clock too. We will be defending way more than attacking and garnacho offers nothing there

Christ this is gonna be a long half.

Defended brilliantly so far. At the other end, absolute cracker from Rashford, shame he didn’t do better with the two other attempts he had but can’t say too much today.

God only knows how Haaland missed.

Now what was that Pep was saying about keeping his emotions under control...

    Yep that’s pretty frustrating tbh.
However when you look at the squad available, there’s not much more you can do against City than playing on the counter.
And that’s how we usually got wins against them these past years
Yup. As long as it works, I have no problem with it.
