We need to try something else when we’re on the ball. Otherwise sooner rather than later City will get back into it. We’re conceding too many turnovers within the first 5 passes.

Also, maybe remove McTominay as he has been useless as well.

We need to hold the ball at least a little bit, can't keep relying on this luck lasting the whole match.

He has been supporting the midfield and has held his position well.

I would say get Antony on for garna please. Uninspiring but should be better at keeping the ball and will do more defensively

we have to score from our next counter attack/big chance otherwise i cant see us winning here. never thought we would be one up at ht

Feel we may run out of gas here. No meaningful sub options as quick counters is best we could hope for with who’s available.

Really a shame Hoijland wasn’t available.

well done to the team. Couldn’t really ask for much more

The first counter attack from us in the 2nd half has to be dangerous even if we don’t score from it. We need to knock some uncertainty into City’s defence like we did in the first 20. That’s the only way I can see us coming away with a result. If we carry on 2nd half not getting out of our half even on counters then at some point we will crumble.

I don’t want to see Lindelof in a red shirt again. He must be odds on favourite to cause City to score.

Massive 45 minutes ahead.. this would be the worst place to lose our long, proud record of never losing when leading at half time.
Ah shit. Forgot about that. It's the only negative record Ten Hag hasn't broken yet

Isn't this record only at home?

We were 2-1 up at Leicester at half-time (and 3-1 up at one point) when we lost 5-3 to them in 2014/15.

    Been very disciplined.
Lucky to be going in 1-0 up.
They'll score but think we may get a couple of chances on the counter.

Almost like he's forgotten about alot of the 2000's with Mourinho's famously pragmatic approach

Or any of the other times Pep has ever lost (including to us). Commentators have no long term memory.

Rashford scores a wonder goal and then turns into Bambi on ice for the rest of the half.

That's what he does. He won't get criticised for it though. If you score one minute, you can do nothing the other 89 and still get praised by most football commentators.

We've been far too mentally fragile to defend 1,2 or even a 3-0 win against not just City but pretty much any team this season so we need to score more from the counter attacking chances we have I'm afraid.

Rashford should've scored at least 1 more in the first half. I wouldn't trust this team to protect the lead even if we enter the 90th minute 2-0. The moment we concede, we'll probably bottle it.

I would have netted £200 if Haaland had put that chance in.

My brain is not sure how to process that information.

Tbh the xG model in this game is skewed. It doesn't count the bad Rashford touch when he was clean through on goal because it wasn't a 'chance'.

xG is useless masturbation. It doesn’t tell you anything your eyes don’t see and conceals from the reader of the stat sheet what your eyes do see.

I can't recall us having 3 straight passes nevermind 5
