Do we think we'll see Shaw or Young at left back? I reckon Ole will go with Young

City seem to be our bogey team, even ignoring their obvious quality. Hopeful we can squeak a win, but I can’t see us keeping them out. 2-1 or 3-2 I’ll go for.

I think we are capable of sneaking a very narrow win here. I think it will be the same team that started against Spurs with Martial to come off the bench.

    Starting XI

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka
    Lindelöf
    Maguire
    Young

    McTominay
    Fred

    James
    Lingard
    Rashford

    Greenwood

    subs:
    Romero
    Tuanzebe
    Shaw
    Garner
    Pereira
    Mata
    Martial

    Score Prediction:
    Manchester City 0-1 Manchester United

Especially at Old Trafford. We never seem to beat them at home.

Playing them at their place seems to be a bit of a lottery, our record there is probably better than most.

I am oddly confident we can sneak something, and I probably shouldn't be.

Going by our record / performances against the top sides this season, I'm relatively confident. Currently we are more likely to beat a team like City than we are to beat relegation candidates!

Mctomminay to boss the midfield. Rashford to look like prime CR7. 1-3 United.

Let's make that 9! I do think we will get something from this game. City being so open should suit us. The problem might be to take the ball from them, but they have not been as amazing at keeping it this season.

I can see us playing 3 CB today and starting Williams at LWB.
Hopefully we can get a result, especially as we are at home, but City looked pretty special against Burnley. Made them look like a very basic team.
The Ole out brigade will no doubt be out in force again should we get beat, but the win against Spurs should have given Ole some breathing space regardless of today’s result.

    We aren't at home.

Thought this was tomorrow. Oddly excited for this even though we are most likely to lose.

We are good in the big games. Although doing well against Spurs right now might not say that much. Chelsea are also poor against the other big teams too.
I just think we can really hurt them today. Although not trusting our defense against this kind of team. De Gea need to improve too, but he did pretty well against Spurs at least.

    I'm super pumped for this.
Can't play for my team today so am going to be sitting waiting for this one!
Can't see us winning but will take a sneaky smash and grab.

    Im nervous.
The performance and result vs Tottenham was fantastic, but i think this game will be too tough for us.
De Bryne and Sterling will be a handful, think those two will decide the game.

I really think we can hurt them today. They cant feck about with midfield passes as the game goes on due to potentially being 14 points behind Liverpool. We could see more directness in their play and a nervousness that is outright outrageous for the first week of December.

They really need to win this and it made them really edgey v Chelsea and theyre in an even worse position now

ill be honest, a big (ish) part of me has been secretly cheering on city (well, not being miffed when they score / win), as a means of stopping the scousers winning the league. But today, perhaps as a consequence of the performance against Spurs (although i am still not entirely convinced Ole is the right man), ive made peace with the inevitable. And I do fancy us today to sneak something, city's defence doesnt look secure against pace at them, so when we do beat them, I wont feel a tinge of regret at it sealing the title for the scousers. chelsea losing again and in something of a tailspin form wise opens up that 4th place. lets get it on. i will also be blocking all my lpool supporting friends on social media from today till August 2020.

I also think we'll win 2-1, an early goal out of nothing, followed by parking the bus, then a breakaway at the end. assuming liverpool have won by then, Id love a bit of VAR controversy at the end just to light the touchpaper inside Pep's head. then sit back and enjoy.

Feel Rashford vs Walker is going to be intense and potential fire works, but im most interested in knowing who City are going to put on the left to handle James pace on the counter, cause one things for sure, there will be plenty of space in behind tonight!

Must be a temptation to play Brandon on a derby day.
Maybe not the best of games to start him. He's been average the last couple and because he's young he can be pretty rash. Against City/Mahrez I think it's a step too far too soon. Yellow card for sure at the least.

From the way he's behaved in the games he's played, he is more than a bit rash, he's a dirty fooker, some of the off the ball stuff has been nasty. but he's our dirty fooker so love him. the teams been missing that edge since Herrera left.

    I'm thinking 3-5-2

    .....Tuanz....Maguire....Lindelof
    AWB....McT.......Fred........Shaw
    ..................Lingard
    ...........James.....Rashford

This is if Tuanzebe is available.

If we do play a 4-2-3-1 I actually hope the 1 is Greenwood. He played pretty well Wednesday and Martial has not looked sharp since coming back. Martial needs to know that his spot is not guaranteed.

I feel our luck is changing a bit. We have been hard done with some bad luck this campaign with the missed penalties, missed sitters, and giving up late goals. I feel we will have some luck today and actually score two fortunate goals early and this will put City in panic mode.

I think it is a while before Ole (or less importantly I) trusts Shaw in a big match for 90 minutes... I'd even go for Williams over Shaw.

Young played on Wednesday and Williams shouldn't play against good opponents away. Shaw starts IMO.

If the worst happens and United lose at least the gap to 4th will stay the same as it currently is. United have a good run of fixtures after this game, 6 winnable games but of course those are the matches United have already dropped plenty of points in hmm.
