Just realized this is on Saturday and dunno what to make of that. Is it good or bad or in between?

Extra days rest for City and the amount we ran vs Spurs (much harder fixture) is a concern. If it'd been on Sunday we would have had a bit more rest (obviously so would they but it would aid in the recovery after Spurs)

Can see it being the same team as the Spurs game. First goal could be vital. We shut out a really good Spurs attack with relative ease after getting the early lead in each half and the defensive shape was good.

Title race was over a long time ago.

Only team that can stop Liverpool winning the league is Liverpool themselves.
Yes indeed. As for Saturday, two less than water tight defences it will come as no surprise if its a score draw 2-2 or 3-3 but with a weaker bench and with no Pogba and Martial it's hard to see United winning.

I'm confident enough in the side that we'll show the right frame of mind and spirit but I think City will edge it in the end.
    Going 2-1 City.

I'm going to guess a draw. City should have the quality to beat us but we will be up for it again and manage to fight for a 1-1.

In pretty much every match this season i thought we would drop point we ended up winning and in almost all the matches i thought we would drop points we have won. I think we will drop points so we will obviously win this

0-1 Rashford on a dodgy pen

Rashford and James will give them a lot of problems on the counter. The most important part will be us having a fit midfield and finding those passes to the front 3 on the counter. Could see this going either way really, from a clear and big defeat to a good win.

If Pogba and Martial are fit, to a reasonable sharpness, the I think we are favourites to win. No Aguero and a dodgy defence makes them a lot less scary.

What?! We have 1 away win in the PL in 9 months. I understand if people are optimistic about are chances but even if their entire first team is out, I would still consider them favorites.

Not even Liverpool will be favorites against City at their home.

Would be suicidal to go with 2CMs only and Lingard is too careless with the ball to drop down deeper, we'll need 3CMs for this one.

This team played against spurs with the exception of Young for Shaw.
I managed to predict all 11 starter's in that game so I've selected Shaw instead of Young this time but suicidal mmm I'm not sure.

How does this match have a higher rate of win predictions than the Tottenham one at home

Kneejerks. If you're unaware of the outcome in the previous game all you need to do is look at the predictions for the current game.

My post was inaccurate though, the win predictions are more or less the same; the difference is in the loss/draw department.

‘City’ is just a name. ‘City’ without Aguero and any defenders is not City.

    They have
    Walker/Cancelo for RB,
    Mendy for LB,
    Otamendi, Stones, Fernandinho for CB

That's their defense except Laporte. Only players they are missing is Laporte and Aguero.

Still much better than us, even more so with taking coaches ability into consideration.

That team isn’t better for me. I mean is has better players all around, but only in between both boxes (which reduces massively if Pogba returns anyway). They lack cutting edge and defensive security without Aguero and Laporte. They have better in between, and can/will control the game with their triangles etc - but we will have our time too, and we will hurt them when we do no doubt. No Fernandinho in their midfield is a big loss for them there. Stones, Fernandinho and Cancelo will struggle with Rashford, Martial and James, and if Pogba is behind them - the chances of us getting that three going forward on their defence is higher.

I’m not crazy, I can see the logic in the ‘City is better’ theory - they have the better players, but with Pogba and Martial, I don’t think they beat us over 90 mins with the injuries they have. Defensively they are not good enough and offensively not clinical enough without Aguero. They will dominate possession but I don’t think they will win the football match.

All I can say is you are underestimating City's team and overrating ours.

You’re doing it the other way I think, and playing a game on paper. Even with their best XI, City were never going to thrash us, as is predicted before just about every meeting with them but never actually happens. They usually win by the odd goal or two. They concede goals to far worse attacks than ours every week, and will struggle not to concede them to us (again, especially if Pogba plays). I think we have good defensive organisation and can limit their goals. If Aguero were playing it would be a different story.

We are a team that won 1 away game this season and even if you extend our form to last season, we have won 1 away game since March or April. If this game was at OT, I would have agreed with you, this is at City, even Liverpool are not favorites against City even with Aguero and Laporte missing.

I'm not saying we can't or won't win, there is a chance as with any game against any team, but favorites? No way.

Liverpool are absolutely favourites to beat City without Aguero and Laporte for me. And I’m well aware of our form. I think we will win tomorrow, more than I think City will, so to me, that makes us favourites personally. To the bookies, obviously not.

I think many on here are underestimating City. City are playing at home and despite being hit & miss during the season, i expect them to win this quite comfortably. They don't have a weak midfield like Spurs and these times Guardiola is on a different level compared to Mourinho.

It's a game of opinions, though. Hope to be wrong, of course.

Think it will be a tight match and we will score the first goal (Grennwood) on a lightning fast counterattack. But then we can't stand their pressure in the second half, fewer rest days get too tough. Predict a draw 1-1.

But if Pogba or Martial, or both, would come in and give new energy after 60 minutes (which I don't think will happen) then I think we have a chance to win. The opportunity exists, but if we are to be realistic, luck is required.

On the other hand, we have had quite a lot of bad luck, too, so this match may well be the one where it turns to our advantage. Why not a red card and a penalty in our favor?

We're good in big games but I never expect much against City. Even full strength, but especially without Pogba and Martial.
    Greenwood
    Rashford Lingard James
    Fred McTominay
    Shaw Maguire Lindelof Wan Bissaka
    De Gea

Called the Spurs result as we're often good in these types of games, and i wouldn't be surprised of we got something out of this one either.

    Going for a draw.

Not sure we have any suitable player for that discipline role

McTominay could do it but it would leave us exposed to their other weapons. With Chelsea you knew they needed Hazards spark to do anything worthwhile but with city they got a few who can do something magical when given time and space.

We'll go into this game motivated and confident, only to have our confidence shattered when we can't get the ball from them, and not being able to beat their press. City have way too much quality for our midfield and defence to handle.

    3-1 to City.

Attack their dodgy defence... we have a strong chance, sit back and they will destroy us..
