So I had a dream last night that we won this game 2-0 and Vincent Kompany cried at the final whistle. I felt compelled to share this information with you fine people.

I also dreamed that I had a bowl of cabbage for dinner. I fecking hate cabbage.

Has to be Matic, Pogba, and Mctominay in midfield right? Bailly has to start as well. Sanchez and Lukaku are good so that just leaves RW and LB. Prolly Young and Lingard/Rashford/Martial.
Should be a good game. Real excited for it. Going with a 1-1 draw, but we play much better than most expect
    I think Upung and Lingard.

The only question for me is how earlier will we concede. I'm afraid I can see them scoring four; we are that much behind them at the moment

Why was the "Pogba turning up with skyblue hair" thread get closed? I was looking forward see the development of it.:)

What will be the consequencies if we get thrashed, for our team I mean? I want them to compete, even if they lose in the end, go down fighting. If they lose like cowards I will be furious.

If we don't start like we did against Spurs we have a chance. This will be close. I've gone 1-1 but could easily see any result from 0-0 to 1-0 either way. Pep will start a strong side but not his strongest. They are not out of CL yet and the league is just a formality. Can't see him throwing the CL away just to win this match and rub our noses in it.

Joe locked it but thread seems pointless given Pogba has had that hair for a few weeks now.
Lol...I started the thread because I"ve not really been noticing his hair lately! The Daily mail put up a provocative headline,so I guess I got carried away.My apologies!!

Good result for us earlier, if we somehow nick a win here it'd be huge for firming up our chances of finishing 2nd.

You have to eat the cabbage. It's the only way we're winning.

I think 3-5-2 would be perfect for this game, I don't know why we don't use it more often when it complements our best players.

I would personally have loved it if he specially turned up with blue hair for the Match and dominated the match

Liverpool haven't beaten us by 3 since Moyes was in charge. They hammered City though.

    15:28KEY EVENT
United team news rumour from the Etihad
There’s still not been a United leak but the rumour is Matic, Pogba and Lingard could be the midfield three. Mourinho hasn’t gone with that trio since the 3-1 win at Arsenal in December, a night United were captivating in attack and in danger of capitulating in defence. David de Gea had to make 13 saves and United were set up loosely until, ironically, they were reduced to 10 men following Pogba’s dismissal.

The possible use of Lingard as a midfield runner is advisable but it does fuel speculation as to who will start on the right flank. It’d probably be between Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford.

Be surprised if it was by that much, but I'd be happy if we get anything out of today. They won't put out a full strength squad, but they've got enough squad depth to compete with pretty much anyone no matter who they field.

I think Lingard is nailed on for this one. Just wondering if he goes with Mctominay in midfield or put Lingard there.

City team news rumour from the Etihad
The expectation is that City will be heavily changed today.

Unconfirmed reports suggest David Silva, Kevin de Bruyne and Kyle Walker have not been included in the squad.

Those reports are unconfirmed, but sources say the expectation is that a host of players have been rested ahead of Liverpool on Tuesday.

I can see why Guardiola would make changes - but it would still surprise me.

He doesn’t often field weakened teams.

If he does, it’s generally because there is nothing on the match, such as Shakhtar away and the second leg against Basel.

I'd been neutral about Jose until Sevilla. If he parks the bus today and hands a weakened City side a win with 70% possession and 15 shots to our 3, he can feck off. Alternatively, he can go some way to making up for that CL debacle by showing some bottle and ruining their big day.

There's nothing in this for Pep. I don't see why he would put up a strong lineup.

Huge day for the away fans today, and Jose owes it to them to make sure they don't have to sit through watching City celebrate a title success today.

There's nothing in this for Pep. I don't see why he would put up a strong lineup.
Most of the blues I've spoken to seem to think he will put out his strongest side but I also don't see the benefit. The CL match is the match of their season so far and they will want all their best players fresh and free of injury.

    That's the spirit!

They're coming off the back of a trouncing from Liverpool, a team we comfortably beat. Im not saying we will win but it's not as bleak as you are making it out to be.

Definitely, I don't think we will see Kdb and Silva.

so guys, are we feeling optimistic, positive and confident?

    Absolutely, always positive.

Pogba will turn up bigtime tonight. He will help us condemn City to two consecutive losses and delay their title celebrations just a little longer. Make 'em earn it.

so guys, are we feeling optimistic, positive and confident?
I feel quietly optimistic. It really depends on how we approach the game which will set the tone of the match. We've had a whole week to prepare so there are no excuses. If we take the game to them like Liverpool did it will create some doubts in their minds and maybe they'll hold back and decide to preserve energy for Tuesday. We'll be the fresher team towards the end of the game. If we just sit back and let them dominate it's going to be a long afternoon.

Pep would be daft to play kdb, walker, silva etc...

The 2nd leg is well within city’s capabilities as Liverpool often concede, giving away a 3-0 lead earlier in the season if I remember correctly.

That being said if we get beaten by a weakened City side I will ( for the first time since Jose joined us) that I doubt him. We need to at least give them a fight and go for it.

Expecting some sort of heel-turn from Pogba. City fans cheering his misplaced passes and lacklustre effort as they think Pep's got to him and he's dreaming of City, only for him to smash one from 30 yards in the 89th minute, doing a lap of the touchline doing the Hulk Hogan ear-cup gesture to a din of boos and whistles.

If not that, then a really boring 0-0 with both sides scared to lose, and an atmosphere reflected by Citys 3-0 CL drubbing and United's acknowledgement that this lot are going to win the league this week or next.

    Yeah, probably the latter.
