I am really looking forward to this one. Only hope Mourinho doesn't park the bus and have a go at them. If he picks the right team 4-3-3 we certainly can trouble them. I am going for 1-1 draw, with plenty of hard tackles.

So I had a dream last night that we won this game 2-0 and Vincent Kompany cried at the final whistle. I felt compelled to share this information with you fine people.

I also dreamed that I had a bowl of cabbage for dinner. I fecking hate cabbage.

We are trashing them today. You read it here first.
Love the enthusiasm, but seriously what gives you that impression?

Our away form to the top clubs is very poor. City haven't lost at home all season and can win the title tonight.

Unless we put in 1 of our best performances of recent times I just can't see us taking a win unless it's a hit and run job. (which I'd happily take)

This is the time when Jose must show he would love to grab Pep's balls and throw them off the balcony.

City are in a position they have not been in a long time - now they are out of FA Cup , probably of CL and the title would not be that big of a triumph for them as it has been obvious from a few months it will be theirs .

We need to give them a lesson and put them in the corner so they don't have the courage to go for it in the CL second leg .

To make the long story short - Jose , fcking show that you still got it or I will be advertising in the whole online social world that I hate you

    0-0

Neither side will risk too much. There's too much of a downside.
I wouldn't put 0-0 off the table because you can defend well and we'll see a lot of the ball, but not quite sure it'll be a cagey game. The title can be won, but there's no major downside of loss in substance, City will still win the title and United will still finish top four - so it doesn't lend itself to lots of nerves in the players in my view, despite there being a lot of bragging rights at stake.

I really want a win for the obvious reason, and the thought of Walker getting a guard of Honour at Spurs next weekend is a good one - I'd make him Captain for the day, but that's just me.

I have no doubt Man City will go for it. They have nothing to lose.

This is the game Romelu will have his revenge. Two goals to one for us. Lukaku to score both. :D

Yeah we have to be precise and clinical with our counter-atracks. We're not going to beat City in a game of tiki-taka so we have to hurt them when we get the chance to break.

I'd play matic, mct and pogba in a three in midfield and go for a really fluid front three, with no Lukaku. Rashford could play as the 9 with two of Sánchez, Martial and Lingard around him.

That's not how we'll actually play, of course, Lukaku will definitely start. But this lineup would give us more chance of hurting City on the counter.

I never thought anyone still thinks of a United attack without Romelu 'the beast' Lukaku.

Who else makes our attack 'fluid'?

Would take the most boring of draws if offered. Get anything from this one and I'd be pretty confident of us finishing 2nd.

I just gotta say. We're not going to press Man City like Liverpool. Theirs is a high risk game and requires intelligent pressing as a team. Very few teams are able to do that. And even then, they'll fade by the 2nd half and gotta hope they already scored enough and are able to just defend and see the game out.

We'll more likely sit back and hit on the counter. Let City have the ball in the less dangerous areas, but maybe selectively man mark certain players like Fernandinho/De Bruyne/Silva.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Young
    McTominay Matic Pogba
    Lingard Lukaku Sanchez

Subs: Pereira, Lindelof, Shaw, Herrera, Mata, Martial, Rashford

Hopefully the bus does its job.

Has to be Matic, Pogba, and Mctominay in midfield right? Bailly has to start as well. Sanchez and Lukaku are good so that just leaves RW and LB. Prolly Young and Lingard/Rashford/Martial.
Should be a good game. Real excited for it. Going with a 1-1 draw, but we play much better than most expect

Keeping my expectations low in this game. So if we avoid a loss it will be a huge bonus. 2-0

It wouldnt bother me that much if he decides to park a bus as long he doesnt go into coward mode where we look like Sunday league team.

    0-0

No real downside for us, most people expect us to lose, we should go at it with everything. Plus if we lose they lift finish the league here.

No downside losing for city, they win the league next weekend and have a fully rested squad to try and stay in CL.

Don't really care too much about the result as top 4 is settled. Hoping for entertainment rather than just sitting back for a draw.

Pretty much resigned to City winning this game, anything other than that will be a bonus.

Preparing myself for the worst... Getting ready to go underground and avoid all media till next week!!:(:(

So, the way I see this going is that we will be 1-3 up with 10 minutes to play, we will park the bus and City will bring on some youngsters to save their players for Tuesday.

Not wanting to witness a defeat, the City fans will stream out the stadium. We will then concede 3 goals (2 own goals from Lukaku and a shanked attempted cross by Otamendi) in injury time thereby handing the title to City who then have to celebrate in a genuinely empty Emtihad.

What I don't want is for Jose to make the same mistake he made in the Barca 5 Madrid 0 game, open up and play to City's strengths.

What works for Liverpool won't necessarily work for every team, especially as Pep is likely to change personnel today. Its a lot harder to do what Liverpool did if City start with Sane and Sterling as out balls rather than just one of them. Especially if they have orthodox full backs overlapping and supporting.

Jose needs to approach this game the way he feels it should be approached. He's played Pep's teams enough to independently arrive at a winning strategy. We shouldn't expect United to just go on the pitch and run themselves into the ground. We have to trust the approach the team takes. I hope if we play on the counter and wait for our moment there aren't too many OTT reactions on here.

    Wtf did i just read
    Hope this is just sarcasm

Jose won't want to lose to Pep. He'll shut up shop, as he always does against the big sides away.

City have a 10% chance of winning their CL tie. If they run themselves into the ground today, it'll only be 5%. They'll play their normal game, but with far less intensity.

Couple Mourinho's desire not to get beaten and Pep's desire to keep his top players fresh... and I think it'll be 0-0.

 Excelent. Have you ever considered writting for, let's say, Sun?

Liverpool have shown that if you don't treat City like they are superior to you and take the game to them, you can beat them.

So with that said I'm expecting Mourinho to do what he does against any decent team we play against and act like we are rubbish compared to them and hope we hit them with a counter or hoof ball.

    Fun times.

I can see Pep saving a few key players for Liverpool. They are still in CL, it should be their priority especially that the next leg is going to be at Emptihad. The league is pretty much in their bag despite of today's result. Pep would rather fight for CL than to win it against United, He's not a fan (not like City has a lot of fans anyway...) but a manager.

We have a chance. Come on United!

I've got a sneak well go with a back 3 today and look to out number them in the middle and look for Rom and Sanchez to run the channels between their centre backs and full backs.

Really sick of the 'park the bus' line. That statement should be banned from caf. So cliche now. Does everybody really have to use it in every post??

I think it's going to be another Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool type performance. Stun them in the first half, Magic Dave to come to the rescue a few times and ride it out last half hour.

We're going to do these feckers 2-0!

Fantastic! I'd be happy with both! I'd be ecstatic if we won 2-0 and Kompany cried at the final whistle. But I'd also be happy if you had a bowl of cabbage for dinner, no problem.

Shut up shop and don't let them pick up that trophy. Nothing to lose? How is anyone not sick at the though of them celebrating at the whistle

If City play a second fiddle team and we don’t at least beat them it’ll be so embarrassing. Consdiering Liverpool battered them too.

Should play an offensive line up and go for it.

The feeling of Arsenal winning the league against us sucked. This would be 3.7 times worse.
Let's get out there and twat 'em. I'll be so pissed if they win it tomorrow. (In both senses of the word)
If the players don't realise the importance of this game and turn up with a IDGAF attitude, they can all do one.
    You did the math?

    -------------De Gea
    ------Bailly-Smalling-Lindelof
    Valencia--Pogba--Matic--Young
    -----------Sanchez
    ---------------Lukaku

    or if Herrera's fit:

    -------------------De Gea
    Valencia--Smalling--Lindelof--Young
    -------Herrera--Matic--Pogba
    Lingard------Lukaku-----Sanchez

No idea what team to expect. Could be any formation. Unless I've listed players injured/unavailable.
