Don't get me wrong, Fella was great 1st half, but all he's done since is foul people and miss sitters.
He's the lazy type! Never really warm to him even when he's performing a bit. His only advantage is his height but then it's hardly working for us most of the time.

Am i supposed to gush and say oh wow veron-esque? That was what was expected of him considering he doesnt come cheap.
You don't have to gush about him but saying he's been shit every game he's played is just completely wrong.

I don't know how to feel after that game, we provided both extremes....from utter idiocy and cowardice to real heart and fight.

Still in the end we were lucky it wasn't a wider margin, so my emotions are leaning a bit towards the negative. We now MUST beat arsenal!!

Not mad at all, smalling let the team down

played with 10 and had great chances to level it

Well we gave it a good go. The red card fecked us up but to be fair they probably would have got a couple of penalties on another day.

at least Rooney was terrific today, really looked like a captain... if he only had scored on his run, would have been the goal of the year

wrong starting eleven, janujaj and smalling should not be there. and rooney should came on from bench. Still LvG < SAF

    Huh

feck sake, could've done with a point there. Hope we beat both Palace and Arsenal next or else I'll really start doubting if we can get fourth

Unlucky. We had them on the back foot despite all the problems we had.

Today could be a blessing in disguise. Smallish will be out for the next game and hopefully will fall to the bottom of the pecking order. Rojo will be gone for 6 weeks and he will struggle to get back in after that. Play McNair and buy CB's in Jan.

    Rooney was awesome today

We can definitely take a lot of positives from this game but the result FECKING HURTS this time

If there was ever a game where the ref cost us the game, it was not the leicester game, IT WAS THIS ONE!

Fair play sending off smalling but zaba and demichelis were also lucky to stay on.

Are you serious? They could have had like 3 penalties and another red or 2 for us. Smalling cost us this game, nobody else.

City aren't very good, they'll drop plenty of points. Smalling really has an awful lot to answer for.

It's hard to take a positive when you've witnessed one of your players act so stupidly. It's all part of failing, isn't it? It's just finding another way to throw a game.

Di Maria's 2nd appalling game for us in a row.

Don't care what anyone says, he was shocking.

Smalling's stupidity cost us dearly as well.

Anything negative said here about Smalling costing us the game, I totally agree. Hope he's aware of that.

This doesn't feel like a loss for me. Somehow this has made me believe again...

I'm really starting to doubt it as well.

I disagree. We're actually playing well for the first time in over a year. It's only going to get better, and we'll buy in January. Nothing but faith in Van Gaal, miles ahead of wherever the hell Moyes was taking us.

So frustrating from Di Maria with those corners at the end.

They struggled with Fellaini when it was put in high, so put it in high. Same as did against Chelsea to get the equaliser.

Some great performances today, particularly Shaw, who is getting better and better. Need to work on final third passing.

Thank feck that people here have realised that we actually played pretty darn good. Had great composure except the final goal was missing.

Even if we're at 10 matches and 13 points. As a team, we've looked stronger by the game.

pfff Norwegian Tv is outside Citihad stadium asking what the atmosphere is like and hardly any want to talk to him......

The THING is, we haven't played bad, we were the better team actually...but the bad luck still seem to be sticking to us from the start of the season...I mean loose the game only 1-0 with 10 men of field and two of the defenders being one winger and a midfielder, that in itself deserves a praise.
The players who stood up were obviously de gea, shaw and fellaini. Rooney, RVP and Di Maria had an ok game, with mcnair and wilson earning some 1st team action. Valencia and Carrick played their part.Smalling and Januzaj were two of the most useless players on the pitch today for us.
We could've win it...oh well...what can you do.
Let's hope we can will all our upcoming games in novemeber, december and january, Iam very hopeful. I really do fear that the injuries at the back four might hold us back in the upcoming matches though.

Spirited performance. Could have score 1 goal with a better luck and quality. Everybody improved in the second half. Yes we lost but at least we fight. We need extra backup in the full back position. Valencia is not a defender. Very poor positioning and awareness. Smalling you idiot:mad:

I have no complaints about that result, we could've got a draw, even a victory with 11 men.

The lads played their heart out and the only person to blame for this is braindead Chris Smalling.

    The good:

    - Shaw and DDG were magnificent
    - Rooney was okay in spells
    - Fellaini and Blind were decent
    - Valencia, Carrick and McNair did well given the circumstances
    - We had them shitting bricks at the end, we pushed right until the end

    The bad:

    - Di Maria has not produced in any of the big games so far. Very poor showing from him yet again.

    The ugly:

    - Smalling. Utter cnut for the sending off. Shit on the ball, even worse off it.
    - Another couple of defenders out. It really is taking the piss now. Rojo will be out for a couple of months at least. No idea about Rafael.

We've played a Costa-less Chelsea and Silva-less City. Should've done better really. Though I can see glimpses of the future, we've had some decent moments. We're a point below the shit Liverpool as well, which says an awful lot about our season so far as well. No away victories, and the next away game is at the Emirates. I'm not going to hold my breath.

Di maria been shocking today. Loving shaw. Worth every penny. Had his brainfart moment giving away the penno couple matches ago but my i like the fiesty lad. Glad carrick is back and seamlessly slotted in.

Thought shaw and Fellaini were brilliant today. Dont get the negative comments about fella considering the amount of work he was doing up and down the pitch. Should have finished his header though. Di Maria has had two of his worst games for us this season against Citeh and Chelsea. Of course the quality of the opposition matters. But it isn't factored in while you are putting in crosses off the corner. My word some of them were atrocious!

How could anyone be proud of such a pathetic performance as what we served up today? We couldn't pass, couldn't stay in position and couldn't do simple things you would expect from professional footballers. Smalling and Rojo were both stupid, that first yellow card was absolute stupidity, the second one was retarded, Rojo had no reason to dive in like he did, but he's done it and injured himself. Most annoying thing was how rubbish City were, yet, we managed to be more rubbish than them - the only few times we actually bothered to play football, we looked like scoring.

Most on here were being absolutely ridiculous once City scored. We were the better team all game. We were incredibly unlucky not to get something out it despite Smalling's stupidity. Can't fault the rest of the lads at all, the effort was fantastic and it was a lot of exciting football despite the loss.
