Yeah Lingard and Mata will not cure my depression, this much I knowLooking forward to seeing VdB link up play with Mata. I prefer us having narrow attacking mids than trying to force people to stay wide when it's unnatural to them, can see this being a good performance.
We're screwed.Decent lineup overall. That defence and midfield need minutes to get into match fitness. Don’t think it will be an entertaining match with that front 3 though....Lingard and Mata...Maguire needs the match fitness as he looked very rusty in the last game. Other than that it's a full rotation so nothing wrong with the lineup.I hope Bailly impresses today. Need to him to start form now on. I just want to see him get a run of games in.I'm sure our side will handle this fixture which will boost confidence going down to Brighton-Hove
Yeah good point. I expected something like this pretty much. I don't know if it is pure match fitness though or tactcal. City, Bayern have not struggled in their games.

Yeah, I have only one prayer every week, and that is for Lingard and Mata not to both be in the starting lineup at the same time. One or the other is fine; not both. While Mata and Bruno have seemed to be on the same mental wavelength since Bruno slotted into the squad, Lingard can't seem to find anything in common with Mata. They are the definition of dysfunctional. Maybe Van de Beek can figure something out. With Ighalo. Lingard can just run around harrying the back line and goalkeeper.Some players need match fitness, some players need more training and more recovery, and some players need to recover and focus their training for Saturday against Brighton. So there was always going to be heavy rotation today.
Hopefully they score some goals and get the result they should and can totally focus on the PL match on the weekend.
Feel like Maguire needs a lot more rest this season, especially with his first CL campaign.
