Bernard over Mengi? don't think so. That's just guess work.

    Bailly
    Matic
    Fred
    VDB

I think we’ll win by my god will we make it look painful. I hope Henderson and DVDB start.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed he will make changes to his side for the Carabao Cup tie at Luton Town on Tuesday (20:15 BST kick-off).
The Reds have an opportunity to bounce back from the disappointing defeat to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, with the suggestion that some players are in need of more minutes to get up to speed with match fitness after an unusual pre-season.
There are plenty of questions to be answered, but the manager is giving little away about the specific nature of the squad he will take south for the third-round clash.

Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe were out at the weekend due to injury, but there were no fresh knocks sustained in the 3-1 reverse to Palace.

“We’ll make some changes,” Ole told us on Monday at the Aon Training Complex. “Of course we will. For some, it’s the pre-season and, for some, they’ve only been here for a week now, for different reasons. Some of them need game-time, they do and we can see we’re lacking in sharpness. We just need to make the most of the training sessions and games we have.”

Asked if there are any fitness concerns, the boss said: ”No injuries, no fresh injuries after that game [on Saturday] but, as I said, we’ll rotate and give some minutes. Some, after the game, will do some harder training this week to get ready for Brighton. Some will join the squad and go down there.”

Manchester United have included youngster Teden Mengi and goalkeeper Dean Henderson in their squad to travel to Luton.

The squad were pictured parking up at the Signature Private Terminal at Manchester Airport on Tuesday morning ahead of their their flight to Luton.

United travel to Kenilworth Road for their Carabao Cup clash against the Hatters tonight, which kicks off at 8.15pm.

Mengi and Henderson could be handed full debuts by Solskjaer, while the Norwegian is likely to include plenty of first team regulars to build his side's match fitness.

Brandon Williams, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Nemanja Matic were not pictured by MEN photographers at the airport but were spotted. Several other players weren't spotted, but a strong squad of around 19 players is believed to have travelled.

United confirmed squad members: Harry Maguire, Daniel James, Odion Ighalo, Dean Henderson, Bruno Fernandes, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Teden Mengi, Brandon Williams, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Nemanja Matic, others unconfirmed.

    Henderson
    AWB - Mengi - Maguire - Shaw
    Pogba - Matic
    Greenwood - Fernandes - Rashford
    Martial
Strong team for this one as we badly need to build fitness. This should be the only league cup game in which we use most of our first team though.

Have a nasty feeling about this one. Still going to watch but not massively optimistic.

I would play the same team, but start VDB instead of Pogba, and Tuanzebe instead of Mengi. Pogba seemed unfit and at this point we need to give minutes to players who can realistically stake a claim in the first 11 and get their fitness up.

I would also give the likes of Fred, James and Pogba minutes from the bench.

Couldn't care less about this. We're inevitably going to make it very ugly for ourselves.

The Palace game has completely leveled any optimism I may have had for the season.

Need a win and get a bit of confidence back. This is a real banana skin for United though. Luton have started the season off well with 4 wins in a row against Derby, Norwich, Barnsley and Reading. They seem to be a low block team with just 35 to 44% possession in their last number of games.

This is the biggest cup for us. As the only one we have a good chance of winning. Let's not destroy our chances already tonight.

Feel the same. Not even bothered to find a stream for it. I'll probably follow along here which should be loads of fun. :nervous:

If Pogba is going to stick around I'd rather he not stink up the place for another season so getting him match-fit asap is important. I'd definitely start VDB over him in the league right now though.

Looks like Lindelof hasn't even travelled to Luton which means he will almost certainly start at Brighton which just gives me nightmares

It is not like there are CBs lined up who are better than him. All are at his level or worse.
They might not make same mistakes as he does, but they make something else.

They seem like a team in a good form with great fitness levels, don't think it'll be an easy game.

I wish this competition would exclude teams that are in Europe.

Will this game be on TV? The spurs games postponed which was on sky.
Are they showing multiple games a la red button?

Yeah it's on Sky, was always due to be. West Brom v Brentford @ 19:00 and West Ham v Hull @ 19:30 are on carabaocup.live

Fitness game. We'll win, easy. Get to see Henderson and hopefully Mengi. Can't wait

Think the Spurs game was at 6 so they were always showing both.

    Thanks Both!

Don't recall seeing it on Skys guide on the app - must of not been looking hard enough!!

If match fitness was the reason for the shit show v Palace, we should be playing our strongest 11 bar DDG

    Hendo
    AWB VL HM LS
    POGBA DONNY
    BRUNO
    MG AM MR
"Bar DdG"?, I personally think Hendo should be our no.1 anyway. I have serious doubts about David and have had for a while. I hope Hendo gets his chance and proves why he should be the no.1 option for utd and prove his potential for being england no.1.
