    Can anybody answer me seriously why Fellaini is playing again. I am bewildered. It guarantees defeat

    Was expecting he'd play Mata. It would be a decent line-up if Fellaini wasn't featuring.

    Will Fellaini play further up front lying off Rooney or in a more deeper role? He could seriously hurt our defense if you resort to long balls.
     
    Fact is, from 21 games we have 34 points- our lowest ever. That is just ridiculous! Seriously from a potential 63 points we have just over half of that! Oh how standards are falling...all this while play wank football and an oaf in midfield.

    Last few games we have been better in attack. First few games we were better in defence. Last year we seemed to find a balance between attack in defence that worked because a simple 4-3-3 created triangles and pockets for players to work in. Then LVG, being the moron he is, changed it. He then blames the lack of pacy creative players but signs no one with transfer window.

    God I hope we win, I'm losing my patience.

    Agreed, Herrera and Morgan should form the base 2. But suspect Fellaini typical of perplexing LVG decisions will have Herrera play as the 10.
     
    Liverpool are usually awful against the poorer sides under Klopp.

    This gives me hope.

    Incredible how stupid van Gaal is.

    Putting Herrera next to Schneiderlin is much safer and better option with Mata ahead of them than Fellaini in cm, or even Mata on the wing with Rooney behind Martial, but no, for some reason van Gaal thinks Fellaini is either better midfielder thsn Herrera or better player than Mata, there is no other explanation. Even if we beat them 3-0 it will still be wrong decision to play Fellaini in midfield because he simply isn't good enough to start games for us.

    This must be the first time since the 1950s that neither side has gone into a mid season game against each other without any hope or expectation whatsoever to be league champions.

    This game right now is simply about historical ego's. Truly a sad state of affairs for both clubs and I hope both boards are very embarrassed about it.
     
    Anyone getting the line-ups right are on the same confused state of mind as LvG. :smirk:
     
    Fellani in a defensive/box to box role. This won't end well. My hope is though that we play the 4-3-3 we did last year vs them then that brings out the best of him
     
    Fellaini is poor in that side but apart from that pretty much what was to be expected with so many injuries as well
