    Sancho is a dickhead

Whatever his relationship with ETH is, he let down the club and the fans to a much bigger level.
Never want to see him in a United shirt again

Better players than him have fallen out with managers but still retained the support of the fan base

Would prefer AWB as a right back against a team like Liverpool. He is a better defender than Dalot

It’s hilarious Mctominay is Captain but maybe it’s an attempt to try and get him to put in some effort and intensity for a change.

Watching this in a pub in Dublin, and I'm not sure I'm ready for the public humiliation.

If our team was capable of going to Anfield and stinking the place out with an obdurate, defensive performance I'd give us some hope. But our players are mentally so flaky this game will be over after 30 min. I hope our players can surprise me but there one thing Utd have been consistent at this season...and that's being awful!

Hopefully Shaw is better at left back today than he was in this fixture last season. Hard to believe in December to 2023 United are about to play Liverpool in Anfield with McTominay as captain and Jonny Evans who turns 36 in a few weeks.

Big game for young Mainoo in an arena and atmosphere that's a tough place for experienced heads to stand out in.

I don’t mind McTominay as captain. The other potential would be Shaw but I don’t see him being leader material, seems quite meek.

McTominay wears his heart on his sleeve and has had a decent season so far. I think quite right to give him a go. Nobody else in that lineup is worthy of captaincy in my opinion.
And yet he’s always hoping he doesn’t get the ball in midfield so he won’t feck up.

We are going to get taken apart, nothing learned from all the terrible defeats so far this season

Anyone notice, that ETH doesn't actual say much in interviews... bit like a bloody MP

Pre-title winning SAF days, however bad we were, we would usually raise our game in such games.
Sadly, I do think it will happen with this set of players.

Don't like that Mainoo, Garnacho or Hojlund are in. Don't think it's fair on them to be a big part of what is about to happen...
Really hope I'm wrong, but I'm dreading it.

For me its the opposite. The only exciting part of the team and what I'm the most interested in. Will also give us a great look at their character

Well, gentlemen, it's been an honor serving alongside you in the United Army.
Many of us won't be making it out of this battle.
Many more will wish they perished in the fight.
If we are mark'd to die, we are now
To do our country loss; and if to live,
The fewer men, the greater share of honour.
God's will! I pray thee, wish not one man more.

Weirdly looks like we're going to put Evans at RCB and Varane at LCB again. I don't get it.

You're more hopeful than me
Any normal game, yes 100%, their development is literally all I care about seeing this season. I fecking hate playing away at Anfield though, I've seen too many garbage performances

Team sort of picks itself. He's went with what I expected from what's available.

I've a horrible feeling Liverpool take 5 off us.

Dalot instead of Wan Bissaka? Why?

Sky doing the whole “no United player would get into the Liverpool side” yet we finished comfortably above them last year and 2 years before that.

Yet, during a 25 year period where they finished above us only once we couldn’t stop hearing about how the Liverpool players were better than ours. Gerrard over Scholes etc. I remember in 99 that prick Irish commentator saying Owen would be our best player.
For someone like me who started following United after the Liverpool heyday was done and dusted, it has always been surprising to me how many in the media are obsessed with Liverpool in ways like you describe. It's definitely real.
