I can't believe how thuggish the Liverpool players got as the game went on, Gerrard and Skrtel could have caused a serious injury stamping on Herrera and DDG's leg like that. I'm just glad we got the win and the double over then this season.

Di Maria's contribution was largely negative. Also thought that Rooney was sub-par again at Anfield. Fellaini was very good as was Mata.

Herrera and Fellaini both fantastic today. They, along with Carrick, look a very balanced midfield. I've said in the past that Mata can do his stuff on the wing in a 433. Its nothing like the same role Moyes wanted him to play. Hope he stays there.

Surprised Blind has such a high rating, I thought he was poor today. You'd understand a bit of poor positioning given he was at LB but his touch and passing were what let him down. I guess winning the late penalty added points for some people.

Yeah. He played a very different role to Young,and he made loads of space. Some poor decisions, but the second goal is exactly why he was brought on.

Thought Falcao would have been a straight swap for Rooney. Maybe LVG saw something I didn't.

Succinct summary.

Di Maria, one quality pass aside, seemingly did everything wrong on the ball. He found space, but gave the ball away unbelievably. Should have played Rooney in for a simple finish too.

Seems churlish to moan about anything after that game though.

Horrible to watch last 15mins, very nervous. Seemed written that Rooney would score to end that 10 year drought.
He seems to score the penalties that matter, like game winners or to level us up, but often misses the ones when we're winning.

I'm seeing de Gea ratings of 6 and also in the Evening news. Sure he didn't have many saves to make. Well, one that got in. It was deflected, but his work off the line was superb. Also, he handled the crosses brilliantly and his distribution was first rate.
