Mata for Miki. Then bring in Rashford for Martial around the 70th minute.

If Lukaku scores that I think we win the game. Get Mkhitaryan off for Rashford/Mata. Young has played well but him not being good defensively is a real issue.

Herrera and mkhi are having a stinker. We can easily have better players than them. Lukaku should have finished, he has to stop shooting straight at the keeper. Try something different. Jose would be disappointed with the team.
You think? I think this is fairly what he expects and wants, pragmatic, defensive football. We arent trailling so that is good, we are still in the match and can still snatch a win.

Danny Mills, Ex-City player on the Lukaku incident:

There's no blood, no cut on Lovren, and I've just seen a replay. There is nothing at all in that. Lovren's reaction, to roll over at least 10 times holding on to his face... well, come on man. That's poor.

    BBC Live Text:

Dejan Lovren is then left in a heap after a tackle with the big striker, he is caught in the face by Lukaku's foot but that looked entirely accidental.

    Neville needs to pipe down.

I can understand stirring on that collision as he'll have people telling him to do so. No idea why he's constantly laying into Lukaku though

Two pretty blatant attempts at cheating by Liverpool, real shame to see.

Lukaku is not the problem. It's the overall team play. And particularly the midfield.

Yup we are losing the midfield battle so we simply started by-passing them in our attacks... Long balls on a lone striker is never going to be easy.

Why are we letting them play ? With all our pace on the wings and up front we should be dominating the game not them.

Mkhi has offered nothing and Young, whilst in fairness putting himself about, has had very little positive output. Those two positions are key for us to make the most of our limited possession. Expect both to make way at some point.

Liverpool struggled v Leicester, we are miles better than Leicester so to say this won't be comfortable is delusion at it's finest.
Even that represents their one win in their last seven games.
It's striking how you can choose one game to hold up in a run of form that we're on, then you actually used a win as an example. You have to overlook so much about both sides to come to that conclusion.
Are we honestly supposed to win every game 4-0 to even give us hope tomorrow? What kind of standard are we expecting here?
It seems as if posters are considering non comfortable wins as struggling now. It's ridiculous.

Well, is it comfortable like you suggested?

They are afraid of Lukaku IMO.
Everytime the ball is at his feet they are selling out to get the ball away from him.
Our score is going to build from that if we can get a little support for him.

    P. Neville on NBC said it like it is. Lovren made a meal of it.
was nothing in it, but Phil Neville would absolve Lukaku of blame if he pulled out a 12 bore shotgun and stuck one in Lovren's forehead.

I have a severe dislike for Phil

Finally Lukaku was not isolated and look what happened. At one point he was 5 on 1.

Second half we need to get get at them, Liverpool are a mess at the back. Need to treat them like West Ham or any other dross.
    Absolutely.

    Usual Anfield drill so far.
Shame Lukaku didn't put our one chance away, that'd have been a real sickener for them!

Who would’ve thought Souness would be more rational than Neville

Need to stop hoofing, also where is Mkhitaryañ has been invisible all game. Darmian needs to stop letting Salah cut inside, why not just go with 5 at the back and let Martial, Lukaku stay forward.

Lukaku needs to bury that, just slot it in the corner.

Someone else needs to come on for Mikhi. We need someone who can carry the ball forward. Martial too deep for my liking. We have defended well but offered nothing going forward. Hope for a better second half.

Also Lukaku should have done better there. Anyone expecting us to go there and play free flowing football was deluding themselves.

The atmosphere isn't that good to warrant such a panicked approach from United, we've been so poor in attack. Lukaku should have scored near post. He's been frustrated and not sharp at all.

Mourinho needs to wise the feck up in these big 6 matches, City would have carved us a new one in this first half.

I think it would be hard to prove that Lukaku's kick was intentional but it looked that way to me. Lovren clearly made a meal of it but it still looked intentional to me.
