Think it looks like a 3-5-2-1 or some thing like that.
Nah. Damian LB and Young on the wings I reckon.

Has done well so far. I imagine Martial will go wide at times and put some of his crosses in to Rom.Flippin'ell, a 3-5-2.
If the partnership works, imagine RedRom and Martial against that defence.
They're basically the same thing. Wingbacks will be roaming up and down the pitch anyway. Why do you call it 352 when it's 532?
It’s the same thing, really. Why do you call it 352 when it's 532?
He's been picked to mark one of Coutinho or Salah. Will be interesting to see who.Looks like 3-4-1-2 like expected. Some earlier posters tricked me. A bit strange Darmian is picked in my view, but otherwise expected team apart from Bailly out and Martial over Rashford.

Black.
But I am bricking it now. You just know we're going to be up against a side that hasn't yet shown up in the league so far, and probably won't again after today. I love/hate this game so much. Only at Anfield mind, I always go into games at home expecting us to beat them. This is potentially season defining for them though, and I'm more than willing to say that this early on in the campaign.
Generic footballing comment - first goal is key. Whoever is forced to come out and search for a goal opens themselves up to being picked off by an opposition who, on their day, are amongst the best in the league at exploiting oppositions opening up for them.
Call me negative, but even with the form books firmly pointing in our favour, I'd always take a draw if offered right now.

Eric Bailly sustained an injury while on international duty, and Marcus Rashford picked up a knock with England.
In the 2-0 against Chelsea he played on the wing. Can't believe Young would be right attacker, he hasn't played that far forward for ages has he?
I'm thinking Jose may feel Liverpool are strong down that side attacking wise though so may want two players who he trusts defensively, who can get up and down the pitch (unlike Mata maybe) and aren't played out of position (like Rashford or Martial would be)
I can't see Darmian playing in a back three.
I can see
De Gea
Valencia Jones Smalling Darmian
Herrera Matic Young
Mkhitaryan Martial
Lukaku
So a 4-3-3 or a 4-3-2-1
Hate that Bailly isn't in the squad. I'm fine with that apart from Darmian.[/QUOTE
Darmian is a no brainer. He'll do better defending against Salah.
Rashford's on the bench. Doubt a knock would of had him there.Eric Bailly sustained an injury while on international duty, and Marcus Rashford picked up a knock with England.

So I'm still right

Yes. He will be supplying shots in from the left like he has doen in some of the last few games, so yes easy to see.You think Ashley Young in a midfield 3 is a more likely than Darmian in a back 3?
